Agreed. I was very excited for new MNK because I didn't notice they stole 4/6 of our positionals. On top of losing 2 oGCDs and shoulder tackle, I just feel like I have very little to do now, and the hecticness of dancing around AoEs while hitting all my positionals and dumping my oGCDs was why I played the job in the first place.
I just don't feel like MNK has it's identity intact anymore. I feel like I'm playing half a Ninja. I think MNK should be allowed to be a niche, high investment job, and not be watered down for people who would have a better time playing a different job. Where's the romance in making a job about pure raw power and technique so streamlined and easy?
It was my favorite job before EW, and now I just feel lost.
Well, the biggest problem now is that monk won't have a rework until way too long. It's just unacceptable :/
They better rework MNK now ! Because nobody gonna really play it. I don't know why they remade SMN ( i don't play SMN ) but for what i have seen in ShB it was MNK who needed the most a REMADE...
They messed up so hard AGAIN, it drive me crazy, i mean Nadi is cool and interesting but... It is not enough AT ALL, it's LAZY ! MNK HAVE NO MECH, that's the biggest issue making MNK a freaking boring job compare to ANY other jobs.
What change from ShB ? NOTHING, 123 => Blitz. Woaw what a rework !!! We got nothing and we lose even more of what we had before...
DRG who is as old as MNK, got good mech as exemple: Stack eye, stack scale, Nastrond phase, Positionals reward with new animation and better potency, interaction with Jump... I mean wtf SE...
That's why to me MNK EW is a freaking scam. Because it came with a good looking package but nothing in it or with a poor quality... Yes Thunderclap and Phantom Rush look crazy cool but outside of those it's a pool of stinky mud.

While it shouldn't have released as it is, there's no gauentee that it won't be reworked for a long time. Ninja got a rework in 5.1, so if the outcry is severe enough, there's every reason to think monk could get the same. And unless I'm misremembering, summoner got a rework around that same time too.
Problem is on this expansion they dropped the ball hard on several jobs at the same time and I really doubt they do anything more than the usual bandaid of potency/minor fixes before the "look forward for the next expansion" usual, moreso if theres a few jobs in such dire state.
I would really like to be proven wrong though...
