Ya, I agree. People who enjoy monk now..won't and should not be happy. Sadly though, they keep changing and changing monks to try and get more of a appeal to them. So now they at last touched the sore spot for many people.
It is a lose/lose.
Im rather new to playing monk myself but im looking forward to the changes. Those positionals were a nightmare to use when running solo or with a tank that likes to try and make the bosses dizzy. This should make that a lot better.

Speak for yourself, I love Monk and am happy with these changes, for me the defining characteristic for Monk has always been its speed which it has retained, It never sat well with me the concept of punching someone in the back anyway seems sneaky, leave that for Ninja's
The last 20 years haven't been good to Gumby.

You are right, I should have said some. Even though the few monk mains I talk with don't like the change. *shrugs*.
i never used positionals anyways so this doesnt change how i play
The tooltips say postionals is gone but at the bottom it says Bootshine crit is still rear and Leaden fist is flank so who knows which is correct.
Hitting things from the back is typical MMO/RPG mechanics for most melee. More damage from behind is just normal and makes sense across the board. Monk was different because it also depended on side attacks more to give it more of a martial arts feel.Speak for yourself, I love Monk and am happy with these changes, for me the defining characteristic for Monk has always been its speed which it has retained, It never sat well with me the concept of punching someone in the back anyway seems sneaky, leave that for Ninja's

Well, the game needs to appeal to a wider audience. Many of those - evidently - can't read or tell which direction they are facing.![]()
