Do I Have to Buy the Next Expansion to Get The Viera Hairstyles?

Well, do I need to buy Endwalker just to get the hairstyles for my Viera characters? I mean, I understand with the male Viera to come with the expansion, but what about the female Viera hairstyles that we have been asking for well over 2 years?

You sure? Because news headlines say that new Viera hairstyles are coming out for Endwalker hence why I'm asking to be sure. I mean, once the expansion comes out everyone is able to access the new hairstyles with or without buying the expansion, right?

male vieras are being added via the endwalkers launch patch however they are not part of the expansion they are a free update to everyone that owns shadowbringers so i dont see why the new hairstyles would be locked behind endwalkers

Even the male viera is going to be added to all players as well? I thought that you need to buy Endwalker to access them? The thing is that I do gain access the new hairstyles and the male Viera, but from what I'm seeing is that you need to buy the expansion which doesn't make sense considering that people were pissed off when Shadowbringer came out. Do you have any official sources that confirms we can play as male viera and access to new hairstyles without needing to buy the expansion?

Regardless of what expansion you own, the entire game gets updated to the newest patch. So "coming with Endwalker" doesn't just mean the expansion content, it means 6.0, so all changes coming will affect all players, whether they're on the free trial, only own the base game, or are only up to Shadowbringers.

Generally speaking, an expansion only restricts the new MSQ and whatever is gated by the new MSQ. Hairstyles are not gated by EW's MSQ. I'm not entirely certain about male Viera; generally, the new races are gated by the expansion they were introduced in, but I don't if they're treating the males as a new race packaged with EW, or simply an update to old content, and available to anyone with Shadowbringers.

Yeah because I've looked for official sources everywhere, and couldn't find any in regards to these things. Like, I can't buy the new expansion due to monetary reasons(tight budget and all), and I just find it odd that they want to charge us money on fixes that we've been asking for 2 years, esp given that we already pay them around 15 USD every month just to play their game. Honestly, I'm disappointed on how less transparent they are when it comes to these things. This link does insinuate the idea that the male viera is locked behind the expansion:

I don’t think SE would lock the hairstyles behind the Endwalker expansion… it just wouldn’t make sense at all otherwise, new players would join as female viera and they’d have to wait all the way to Endwalker just for additional hairstyles. It’s just not efficient
