Now I don't know if this has been said before but would a solution for the game not being able to teach players on how their job functions (prior to how most jobs now are close to homogenisation) be to ditch the novice network and ditch the guilds from being exclusive, to now being combined.

The way this would work for example is that you start off either as a DoW/DoM, which takes you to the specific city and from then one you'll get the regular MSQ but also requiring you to visit this area called the Guild Arena, where your job guild and other specific jobs are held.

This Arena will have no ties to what the old job quests are like and more as such in alignment with your abilities that you earn through levelling up. This is then where the Arena (as you learn a new ability) will come in to teach you how to use it (the intended function) and utilise how the novice network would teach you about certain mechanics.

Rewards as a result of completing the lesson, will reward you with artifact gear/dyes/gil.
