I don't think it's that the development team don't care so much as a lot feedback is not necessarily reaching them. There's a lot of threads here that have reached impressive levels of support but were seemingly not passed on as feedback to the development team.

For example, a great many people have consistently been asking for more facial hair options for male characters. Despite being a fairly common request, however, Yoshi-P wasn't aware of it - but then he acknowledged it in an interview and now we're getting a brand new face for Midlander men complete with the same stubble used in the promotional trailers/in-game footage.

It would, of course, help immensely if our community representatives were a more visible and active presence, though for whatever reason they seem to only really stick to Twitter these days. Which is, perhaps, why so many niche requests seem to be prioritised over more popular ones!

This contained a bunch of stuff I'd been asking for, for a while now. Like dyable relic gear without having to do a bloody extreme trial, unisex butler gear, and they made DR slightly more managable by giving you an echo bonus for not having a full party

Something interesting to note is that Grenoldt is going to have Reaper and Sage gear once you hit level 80. Guess this replaces the gear you would have got from the respective job quests, but it would be interesting to know if it is a generic set, or more likely, something that is Reaper/Sage themed.

Patch notes states that Reaper and Sage can get 80 gear from Grenoldt in Tempest. So lvl 80 AF gear confirmed?

I was looking at the "new items available for MGP" with confusion because it seems to be existing relic gear, but then it clicked...

I just realized that there's glasses with hat. Probably it's gonna be ears accessories?

Still, they should've do all current glasses into accessories

I'm hoping it's just an example and they'll have a range of glasses available like this. As I mentioned earlier, one of my alt characters wears the contemporary pince-nez glasses and I would love to be able to combine them with hats.
