Dalamud in 1.22b

I think the Allagan empire discovered the same Astral / Umbral cycle we know of now, and then created Dalamud for one reason or another, in a way that they knew it would survive into future cycles. So we have to ask ourselves this, for what purpose would the Allagans create a WMD like meteor or a giant bomb that would survive well past their "end of days"
It could serve no end for themselves so they must have left it for future species to utilize in some way. Perhaps a method of stopping the cycle.

Something to ponder... what if Meteor doesn't land? We're all assuming that meteor will crash down, and the changes to the landscape will be a result of the devestation, but what if instead the changes come about as the result of the CURE to meteor?

As we know, meteor is intended to wipe out Eorzea. However, we also know the cities will be largely the same as they were come 2.0. It seems rather odd that the disaster would have little impact on the cities. I'm imagining something like Holy from FFVII: Something coming out of the ground to stop the meteor.

Not to be a 7 fanboy, but I liked the idea of Holy stopping meteor
And them being one of the few iterations of Light/dark in the game
