Item limits for small houses are low enough that the storage limits for relocation aren't a concern.

As you're probably aware when you relocate all current housing items go into storage, but if your storage already has lots of items in there, the relocation will be denied if there's not enough room left for all the existing items to move into storage as well.

The Storeroom Status screen can confirm if a relocation is possible though.

Item placement limit for a small is 200. Item storage limit for a small is 200. That's a total of 400 items you might have in your house. Outdoor is 20 placed and 20 stored for a total of 40.l

Relocation storage limit is 400 indoor and 40 outdoor regardless of house size. Someone with a small is fine.

Relocation storage is only a problem if you have a medium or large.
