Can I transfer from Small Plot to Medium Plot?

Hello,

I'm prepping up for Endwalker housing. I have a small house in Goblet and I plan on getting a medium house in Ishgard in the distant future. I was wondering if it is possible to use the relocation option to transfer from a small to a medium, or does the relocation option only apply if I were to transfer from one small house to another small house?

You can change sizes assuming your furnishings and storage will fit. That's only really a concern when changing to a smaller location so upgrading should be fine and effortless!

To be sure, speak to the depot NPC, who will tell you if your home is eligible for transfert as there must be a certain amount of space available in your freehold garden and interior stock.

I have had the transfert refused for the same plot size.

Keep in mind that relocation will no longer bypass purchase timers (assuming that is retained, SE has not been clear on that) and also will not bypass the lottery.

You'll be able to relocate if you win the right to purchase the medium plot.

As you're probably aware when you relocate all current housing items go into storage, but if your storage already has lots of items in there, the relocation will be denied if there's not enough room left for all the existing items to move into storage as well.

The Storeroom Status screen can confirm if a relocation is possible though.

Item placement limit for a small is 200. Item storage limit for a small is 200. That's a total of 400 items you might have in your house. Outdoor is 20 placed and 20 stored for a total of 40.l

Relocation storage limit is 400 indoor and 40 outdoor regardless of house size. Someone with a small is fine.

Relocation storage is only a problem if you have a medium or large.
