Often they use accounts that are temporarily compromised to do this. So the real owners will eventually get their accounts back.

Tbh from the sounds of it only people that fall for it are naive, and maybe they should fall for them at least once so they can learn.
The only problem is that if they have FC chest access, the bot the phishers use is scripted to strip their FC of all of its gil so others suffer as a result of their naivety.
Thankfully, if you have even a basic internet security program it'll block the phishing websites...though unfortunately that doesn't seem to apply to a lot of people.
That's like saying elderly people who fall phone scams and lose their life savings deserve it. Not true. Trust in others (even if it is admittedly naive) is not a reason to be punished. It's only those who abuse trust that should be ruthlessly, cruelly punished.

It is unfair but reality is you only have yourself to blame if you get scammed or con. Use it as a life lesson and move on or die in regret. As people like to say life is not fair, sucks they lost everything but Rip should have took better measures to protect their assists.
I know it is harsh but cannot protect the stupid or the naive forever life moves far too quickly for that.
You're right. I don't even know why SE is even bothering to take action. After all, once everyone gets a nice burn no one will fall for such obvious scams EVER AGAIN.It is unfair but reality is you only have yourself to blame if you get scammed or con. It's so simple.
I mean your not wrong is the sub set of people that fall scam do not learn after getting scammed once F in the chat for them.
I posted about this a while back ago. It's getting more prevalent as the game's popularity peaks. This happens a lot in Genshin Impact too, where people will promise free premium currency and take you to a fake log in page.
I would remove the name from the screenshot. And the link provided within. Naming and shaming is against the forum rules, and it's usually not a good idea to post an already suspicious link.
You're *
Luckily, most civilized people disagree with you and say that the vulnerable should be protected.
