Decorartion limits, why only 400 for a large?

Because they would have to increase item limits for all housing because it wouldn't be fair to everyone if only large houses got an upgrade
Small & Medium houses suffer as well due to limited interior item placement & storage

One thing SE doesn't prioritize is the housing fixes players have been asking for for years- it's something they drag their feet with & I'm certain they don't even participate in housing decoration which is why it hasn't changed ever. (I know interior item limits changed at one point but it was years ago)
If these changes do happen, it won't be for a long time sadly

If you look at ratio of items to floor size, it would be more than fair to increase it for larges and not the other sizes. A large has roughly 6 times the floor space but only twice the item limit.

There's literally no point in saying only people who own large houses should get an item limit increase especially considering not everyone can own a large & housing is already limited

Yeah, no. I own a small. 200 item limit is not enough space to make anything good (you have to glitch items from the bottom floor to get desired looks & that takes up ALOT of wanted space- and unless you block off the bottom floor or deal with a giant, void of a room- 200 for a small is not enough.

I could debate 400 is just enough for a large if they block off the top & bottom floor, that would be more than fair for everyone-> Can't give 1 house size an increase & not the others.

blocking off the bottom or top floors so you can utilize the items in every house size- that shouldn't be the norm
giving all houses an interior item increase is the real win - win situation

It's been requested many times before but it's likely a problem that's difficult to solve. Each object type requires loading of the 3D asset, the texture files * plural for a reason* and additional information of said asset like if it's interactive, its loading priority etc... It's a lot of data to stream into video memory. To prevent memory overflow you use different culling techniques. This can alleviate the stress in the GPU's rendering pipeline to some degree. Unfortunately there's no telling how well their game engine works and how much information the GPU manufacturers will give them to help with this process. Usually there's no help to the developers because it's a "big secret". There aren't only limitations in video memory but also in how much data their servers may store and also stream to the players. They are always playing musical chairs with bits of data to maximize performance for everyone.

I'd love it if they could double or even triple the housing item limitations but right now until they get new servers and can have a break from the current chaos, I don't think we'll be seeing any changes. I love decorating houses and often times you can only use a single floor due to the item limits.
