    Actually now is the best time if you wanted to experience the story in FFXI. SE removed all of the cop caps and if you have a maxed job you should be able to blaze through it np(I helped a friend duo it at 85 cap)

    Also liked to add that maybe the reason FFXI players have such nostalgia about FFXI is because the world felt real. Every time I logged on it didn't feel like I was playing a game. Felt like I was logging into my second life(and at my prime years it was a second life lol) the world felt real. Mobs had uniqueness to them, traveling to cities(before gathering other modes of transportation) was rough and dangerous. Death was a serious issue. The emphasis on teamwork and needing others helped me form bonds with others. Out of the host of mmo's I've played I've always returned to FFXI because it felt like home. And no it wasn't my first mmo, and yes there were some serious flaws with the game, but the world felt alive. This is how I want FFXIV to make me feel, like the world is alive and doesn't revolve around me.
