Is it okay to trade gil to other players?

I'm a new player and I'm already really in love with the game. I play the game with my husband and he keeps wanting to trade me 500k and I keep telling him to wait because I'm afraid we'd get in trouble since I guess there is some issues with RMT and I'm not sure how GMs tell the difference between trading a large sum of gil between friends vs fake currency accounts. Does it depend on how frequently the account shares gil and how much is traded at a time? Should we just avoid the situation all together? I'm just bad with gil management and he isn't and he always wants to help so I can keep up. There wouldn't be any actual money exchanging hands; just two friends/spouses sharing resources in-game. Is there a log to prove it?

We've just invested IRL money (and obviously time) in it so we don't wanna break any rules. Any clarification is appreciated! Thank you!

you can trade gil in game with fellow players, there are newb greeters who randomly trade gil and items to new players by the aetheryte plaza in the starter cities. It's fine, the RMT is about gil sellers who take cash out of the game and send gil to you. And even then most of the actions that are reported and stopped by the Dev team are Chat ad spams, and hostile account takeovers. Trading gil between IRL friends and family happens all the time, I even maintain an alt account just to transfer gil between my characters and alts.

You're fine. 500k is a small amount for what they would be looking for on anything automated. People can find that in their couch cushions in this game now.

if you're just giving gil to someone else and no actual money is involved that should be fine.
