We don't need anymore gil sinks

I actually agree on this. I wanted a house. Everyone kept saying how easy it was to get gil if I leveled crafting.
Leveling crafting took time, patience, and a lot of the gil I had from the MSQ to where I was down to 0.
Finally though I max'd them all to 80 along with DoL (except fishing but whatever.)

..I now have 3 million, that 3 million took an entire year. It is NOT as easy as people say it is. Yeah you can make a couple hundred with roulettes and dailies to be able to afford gear or maybe 1 expensive glam item.

But a mansion? I'll say it's never gonna happen for me, the small cottage I got is about all I'll ever afford at this rate. And yes, I'm crafting and doing extremes for feathers and whatnot. Still not easy.

And before you say it. I have 5 retainers, and I nolife the game only time I'm not playing is when sleeping/eating/bathroom.
STILL. Not. Easy.

I can pull in a million gil a week if I try just a little bit with crafting. "Easy" depends on how much time you can put in, though. If you can't do more than an hour a night, it's not gonna be easy. But like, just the ~45k a day from selling a map means that in a week I've made at least 300k in seven days. If you need any help, find me on Balmung and shoot me a tell.

Edit: Just goofing off yesterday morning I made just over 350k off three crafts.

Just by selling Zonureskin maps daily (5 minute farm per day at most) you could have way more than that.

I'm pretty bad at making gil but even without trying hard, I was able to get 15M in 3 months.

You can get more than 3M in one month just by crafting cookies for the cristarium levequest and by selling the zonureskin maps, it is braindead gil making. It can't get simpler than that for someone that has cooking and botanist at lvl 80.

If I really wanted 100M gil, I would be able to get that sum for sure in 1 year of playing.

Even if you didn't have any DoL and DoH you could get a lot of gil by running zonureskin maps with a party and farming bozja cluster to sell the 180 cluster mount for about 1~1.5M gil (IDK how the prices for that mount is today, but it was arount that when I was farming it).

It's baffling me that retainers are never mentionned about how make easy gils, it's free and everyone can do it and it's rng based you cant tank a market with it.

I just send them on the 18h missions and take the free 30-40K a day.

If SE cares so much about people's gil, instead of having gil sink, I'd rather they significantly lower the maximum amount of gil that players and retainers can have at any one time as well as the amount of gil that can be transferred between players.

Examples:

Maximum amount of gil
per player (excluding retainer): 50 million
per retainer: 1 million
per direct trade/mail transfer: 100 thousand

Also, maybe set a maximum price for any and all items sold on the marketboard.

That's odd. What were you doing to try and make gil?

Unless you expend more than you make, it is literally impossible to not make more than 3M gil in 3 months of *just* delivering 100 leaves of coffee biscuits. It gives you raw 1.6M gil every 16 days (assuming that you do all 100 leaves in less than 16 days). If you combine this with selling zonureskin maps daily (that is also guaranteed gil), which is at minimum 30K in the market board and normally around 50K on weekends, you will get the minimum amount of 10M gil in 3 months. Even if you decide to only go for cookie leaves you can get 8M guaranteed raw gil in 3 months.

There is no amount of gil farming that will make you money if you can't control yourself on buying glam/mounts/minions in the market board.

Edit: Just for clarification, I'm assuming that you would farm the mats for the [HQ] biscuits since you already have botanist at 80. It is tedious for sure, but it is guaranteed 1.6M gil every 16 days if you do all the 100 leaves you have

You do know that even if they decided to delete everygils on every account rn, in few months it will basically the same as it is rn right ?
The same will camp the marketboard, still have a ton of bots and you will still have ppl that wont make good gils and some that will be rich in no time.
That's not how it works, and doing reset will only """""change""""" things for few months max.
And you'll get angry ppl spamming the devs about it.

The thing about making gil is patience and constant work. You need to save some time to farm gil every week, be patient, and not spend all the gil you make. As I said in a previous reply if I had made an effort to make gil this entire year I could have around 100M gil. You don't need to dedicate a large part of your playtime to making gil, you just need patience and constant work on it, and also self-control to not spend on glam.

People underestimate the amount of gil you get just by doing stuff that take no time and give a few thousand, for example, the zonureskin maps if you farm them every day and save a few to sell on the weekends (where most ppl want to do the maps, so higher demand) you will get about 50K per map, so since you can get 1 each day = 350K/week with 2~5 minutes of farm per day, 1.2M/month with NO effort (assuming you have any gatherer at lvl 80).

If you have the culinarian and a botanist at 80 you can get 1.6M every 16 days guaranteed from delivering HQ Cofee Biscuits for the levequest "A Cookie for your troubles" in the Crystarium. So basically about 3.2M every 32 days.

If you don't have any gatherer or crafting, the gil making is more limited but still possible. Current expansion group maps (Zonuresking for ShB) allways are good options for making good gil, especially if you sell the mats and split the gil with your group (I recommend going with your FC mates or ppl you trust for this). In ShB you could also do cluster farms for the 180 cluster bozja mount and sell it for 1~1.5M. It an 1~2h farm and the mount probably will rise in price in EW since less ppl will do bozja and even less bozja cluster farm.
