but atm Garuda seems like a store bought success ploy to siphon off some gil from the servers. I've seen "associates" blow up 5 mil trying for tripple melded brands, trying to get that max Output for garuda.

I don't think the economy works like you think it does. That "5mil" spent trying to triple meld isn't pulled out of the economy, it's now in another players' pocket.

It's negligible, though. Especially if selling in the proper ward. Even more so if for extremely expensive items you sell via shouts/bazaar, which a lot of people do.

I'm pickin' up what you're layin' down, across worlds total could certainly add up. However, it's still possible to be completely self-sufficient without spending a dime.
