Java 6 install guide or direct download links
Choose FFXIV Log folder (in Win7 "C:\Users\<currently logged in user>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\user\<generated number for the specific character>\log")
Optional:
Menu > Reparse Old Folders for re-parsing any old folder of log files. Use in combination with "Save Logs" button to save logs and then reparse at a future date.
Target Monster is for only parsing dmg related to a specific monster (spelling must be correct).
Screen Capture Directory is the place where saved screen shots (snapshot's) of the parser are stored and where the "Export Data To .txt" is saved.
Export Data To .txt creates a .txt file with all the current parsed info including every players damage dealt, damage taken, healing, and detailed breakdowns for each WS. This is best for the number crunchers who want to thoroughly test specific gear/stat builds.
Show DMG Tool Tips check box is for EU users or anyone who has issues when running the parser where the main Damage done panel is glitching/lagging.
Always On Top check box forces the parser to stay visible on screen and on top of any other programs.
Read NM File is used to identify NM's in game, if you have issues with a party member not being parsed because they might share a name with an in game NM you can uncheck this checkbox.
Clear Log check box is used for backing up your current log files to a named folder (date-time stamp) so that the parse can start clean. 99% of the time you want this box checked when you start the parser.
Clipboard allows you to copy DPS/HPS/DMG-taken/DMG-Dealt to the clipboard which you can paste into the chat window in FFXIV.
History DPS is saved each time you click "Save Logs" button. If you need to recall the DPS of a prior fight quickly you can click this to get the last 20 saved logs. Choose which dps to copy to clipboard.

Mousover Tool Tip:
Note a: each players dps is calculated on the timestamp of the file that their first and last action occur in. For a direct comparison of a single fight DMG-dealt is a good measure, for comparing may fights or rotational theory DPS is the method of choice.Steps:
1. Download Java/update Java/verify Java is installed
2. Open/run parser program (BG_Parser_122_final.jar file)
3. Set Log folder
4. "Click Start/Restart button" to start parsing log files
5. "Click Save Logs button" and name a folder to save your .log files for future use
6. "Click Snapshot button" to take an SS of the parser and to save a condensed .txt version of all players breakdowns (can be used mid fight to really dial in rotational theorycrafting
7. "Click Start/Restart button" any time you wish to clear out the current log files (for re-entering an instance/fight etc).
Note b: this does not read memlocs or anything against TOS it simply reads your log files after they are dumped out this makes DPS a difficult number to calculate, it reads the time stamps on the 4k log files that SE writes out, in a busy battle environment like Ifrit the logs write out very quickly so DPS is very close to perfect. If you are solo the log files may take a while to write out, be patient or use a ten line "/echo ." macro to force log files to be written out. Spam the macro 3-5 times and w/e is in the log buffer will be written out and force the parser to update.
Feel free to post errors found or suggestions to make the parser better.
