I think that everybody has their own definition of End Game when it comes down to this game. As for somebody who has tried to played 1.0 (totally forgot my password) and starting to play in Patch 2.2, I can truly appreciate that we can choose what type of endgame we want to do.

I remember I was playing in WoW and when you get the endgame it is only Raiding or PVP and that is it. Nothing else, you are just sitting around or doing an alt and going through the same thing again and again.

One of the reason why I like FFXIV because you have choices and you are not locked into activities after Endgame. Want to do harder content, you can find a static and work with them, If you like Glam, then going back to older dungeons and getting them (check out my lodestone, I like my glam) and there is other things as well. So you are tie into one thing but many things.

@Escalon, I dont think nobody will give you "flak", it is your own opinion and stance. We do have some rotten eggs here and there, like in every other gaming community but we just want other players to enjoyed themselves while they are here and show that you can have fun in a game that you are not locked into few systems. If you want to go back to your favorite game, that is fine (I played Ragnarok Online when I have a chance).

Uh ... not sure if this is even a serious post?

FYI, the % of player even attempted Ultimate is in the mid one digit, and I say attempt-not even cleared. And those are "higher than usual" number thanks to the long content lull leading to the next expack. During normal patch cycles those number tend to hover around 1-2% of the population base.

Even savage which is the 2nd tier difficulty only see around 10ish % during the first few months when they are relevant, before the rest of the player base catch up with welfare-gear and the fight themselves are nefted.

I remember watching the Appolo 13 documentary where I saw a bunch of NASA engineers calculate new tragectory when the accidents happens and thought "it looks easy!" There is a reason why Ultimate fight have large viewer ship, most people just don't even think about setting foot in there. You need a team of people you can trust who on top o their games and with good mentality, and even then outside the cream of the crop you'll still need 2-3 months to just clear that one fight.

The combat is the "core" of the game and its genre. Whether people like housing, minigames and gposing substantial content or not is irrelevant. Besides, none of those things are tied to finishing MSQ or being high/max level. That's hardly "end"game.

does it even matter if spmething is endcontent? youcan start at lvl 15 with glamouring and spend hundreds of hours happy without reaching endgame. what about lvl50 extremes and coils? yeah its not endgame.... but it doesnt really make a difference. oh well i guess there are two...
you dont get highest ilvl (which is kinda useless anyway) and you can actually play them with friends who havent reached endgame yet.

there is not much 'endgame' i agree , but there is a lot of other things you can do/enjoy.if there is nothong left a break til new content arrives is propably the best

Especially when you look at what they bring as end game content, which is stuff you dont need max lvl to do it at all.
End game is an illusion in MMORPGs.

For end game to exist, the game must end and that doesn't happen with MMORPGs. The most we get is a temporary pause between content patches and expansions increasing level cap.

Players would be doing themselves a favor by ditching end game as a concept and discussion content type instead. That puts the value on the content instead of when it's done.

You literally just told me to leave the game (that is my favorite game since 2014) Just because I have a different opinion and critique a game I play for 8 years ? Just because I did not put it on a pedestal for the faults it has ? *clap* *clap* *clap* We wont give you flak, but we want you to leave! Just lovely.

Exactly this is the reply I feel the most disappointed about. Outside of Savages and Ultimates (combat) and Crafting/Gathering, all of those have nothing to do with endgame content.
IF you see supplementary things like these as Endgame, thats a really sad state we are in.

Glamour is not endgame, glamour is supplementary the moment you unlock it. Sure, there are people who spend days looking for the best glams, but there are just that much items in the game.

Housing is the biggest joke of this all. If you are lucky one of the few who actually own a house, sure, you can mess around it for a while, but hardly falls into the category of endgame.

Combat, savages and ultimate, kinda yeah, that one counts.

Relic weapons, we are talking present or past ? Present, ignoring the fact how boring it is to do. Its something that actually is contributing to your Endgame. Past ? Thats a joke right ? So, you are telling me, just because SE cant come up with a decent long time goal in this game, I have to run dungeons I'm running since 2014 so I can get a glam ? Thats your Endgame ?

Leveling leftover classes, right because everyone wants to level something they do not enjoy. I have everything at 80 and I hated leveling some classes, because it felt like, welp, here, thats all left for you to do.

Farming Gil : For what ? past the 20 mil mark, you dont even need to use gil anymore, and 20 mil gil is really not that hard to get in like 6 months (You can make a LOT more if you actually care about that)

Farming mounts and other such rewards, so again, basically rerunning the same dry and boring content so I can get a mount I dont even like the look of it ?

All left over fetch quests, yeah, thats Endgame alright >.>

Crafting/Gathering, again kinda yes, but at a certain point, its just not worth even using them anymore.

And before anyone says Gold Saucer, right, Im not paying SE a AAA games worth of money each 4 months so I can play minigames.

As you said, there are other games out there and if there is nothing left to do in FF, people should really just go play something else.
I fully agree, THANK THE HEAVENS Endwalker comes out.
Complains about expecting flak from the "nice" community

Proceeds to be rude, arrogant, condescending and scornful

It's beyond me why you think you'd ever get flak.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

My favorite Endgame when I'm not doing Roulette queues is doing New Game+ MSQ/Side/Job/Role Quests whenever I feel like, or new quests to see what hilarity ensues.

I can't do this in any other MMO because either I don't have the option, the gameplay sucks, the quests suck, the story sucks, music sucks or not worth doing at all because it's all trash. I remember in WoW the only things worth doing at "endgame" were sitting around waiting for Raids/PvP Battlegrounds/Dungeons and RNG crap and later World Quest RNG junk that I could do like once a day... no narrative/lore/anything worth a damn to immerse me. I gave it another chance with latest Shadowlands expansion but stopped playing less than a month (more like 3 weeks). I tried SWTOR on and off every few years but the gameplay is horrible and story sucks, just NO. I'm not repeating Chapters for that shit. Screw the grinding. The music sucks too, everyone & every character looks like a goddamn dork.

FFXIV seems to be the only MMO where I like the gameplay, quests and story enough to enjoy doing these activities AND it lets me do them, there's always something amusing to do and it doesn't feel like a waste of time. Glamours... I use to hate those activities in WoW and SWTOR because none of it mattered, it all looks like shit anyway, too busy chasing RNG gear that was worth keeping and not thrown away later, wonky restrictive progression, but in FFXIV it's so much fun, accessible, options besides Hardcore Raiding/PvP/RNG and looks way more awesome too.
