    FF14 1.0 Singple Player Returns

After Endwalker which ends the story from 1.0. It would be interesting if Square Enix released the Final Fantasy 14 1.0 in a Single Player format. This idea would allow everyone the chance to play the orginal game on Playstation or computer, with updated graphics, as a single player run through to experiance the entire story.

Could also include a code that allows Minion and/or Mounts that only 1.0 players were able to obtain as a larger number of people never played 1.0.

    Just a thought.

I can pretty safely say this will probably never happen - Yoshi has outright replied to any requests for any sort of return of 1.0 with comments such as "NIGHTMARE!" when asked, so I'm pretty confident 1.0 is gone and is never ever coming back.

They're certainly never going to recreate it as a single player game too as it would just be far too wasteful and would divert resources from ARR, not to mention Yoshi already has his hands full designing FFXVI as well as running FFXIV.

Especially as just how... little there really was of 1.0, given how utterly broken and incomplete it was even when it was shut down (the original 1.0 main scenario was just the original starting city story to level 20, the 'Path of the Twelve' (the predecessor to the Scions) story that ended abruptly with no resolution around... level 45... and the 'Seventh Umbral Era' story that replaced both at level 50 and led into ARR (and which ARR has the most connection to. There was nothing else, other than a handful of fetchquests and endlessly grinding out leves).

And ARR basically cannibalized 1.0's story for ideas and concepts anyway for it's storyline so speaking as a 1.0 player myself, I was constantly recognizing many of the same story beats and cues when I played through ARR, so you'd basically be doing more of the same. ARR isn't just a sequel of sorts to 1.0, it's a reboot, so anything that is still revelant or canon from 1.0 has already been handled in ARR, you'd just be seeing the same things pretty much.

And there also were no minions in 1.0, that is an ARR only thing. The only mount that was actually gained in 1.0 that is now unattainable is the Goobbue, which, you can get a variation of by doing the Sylph beast quests anyway (the Laurel Goobbue, which is practically identical other than a different colour and the wreath on it's head). The Legacy Chocobo was actually never available in 1.0, it's only gained in ARR, but the way to attain it was in 1.0, by gaining Legacy status from purchasing enough subscription time in 1.0 while the Campaign was running.

Neither of these mounts will return I'm afraid, as, like other Legacy bonuses, it's a 'thank you' to players who stuck with the game during it's darkest times and witnessed the game's symbolic and literal death and rebirth, and is never to be repeated sadly.

    Interesting?
    Sure.
    Should it happen?
    Maybe not so soon.

Yoshi said he wants this game to eventually support single player all the way through. No reason to make a separate single player version of the game now when they're still actively working on adding single player support to the existing game.
Not to mention funneling people looking for a single player experience into the version of the game with a monthly sub sounds waaaay more lucrative.

But also, let's first see how they try and preserve FF11. They've said they wanna while also acknowledging its servers won't run forever...
