    Right the ping is.... Minimum = 149ms, Maximum = 150ms, Average = 149ms

Tracert is showing a clear path with at most 150ms at the Exodus server end, couple of *'s but they are consistent so likely they block pings.
Pathing matches up with Tracert showing everything clear and * in the predicated places.

And in response to a post above, I dont know how many times i can possibly say, This is only happening with FFXIV, every other game is fine! Its not my hardware and its not my connection.

Thankyou for the advice on Tracert Valkyrie_Lenneth
Getting annoyed so gonna step back from the post.

    Ty for the help.

Ive been having a very similar issue.
My family upgraded from 200 to 300 mbps, but my ping suffered, 110s-120s as an average, when i was initially at 80-85.
Either some server stopped working as soon as we got the new modem, or the modem just reaaally hates ffxiv.
hope ur issues gets resolved soon! <3

there are some VPN/Tunneling services like mudfish or noping that will lower your ping by a bit due to better tunneling - if you're lucky, that is

    So, a few things here:

Bandwidth (usually referred to as download speed) has nothing to do with latency. To use the water and pipe analogy, bandwidth/download speed is the width of the pipe. Latency/ping is how long the pipe is. It will help if you're trying to download very large files (think about moving a bunch of water through a pipe, a wider pipe helps then), but MMOs in general are pretty efficient with data transfer so download speed is unlikely to ever affect gameplay unless it's extremely low.

With that said, if tracert is showing nothing usual at the same time you're having issues in game (specifically no issues at the NTT servers -- the usual culprit), then the issue could be something local with your computer/network. I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it could be something silly. Maybe firewall settings or something so it's worth checking those out.

As a random thought, is your router actually handling the new internet speeds well? Some routers can be overwhelmed even if they technically support 1Gbps connections due to buffer issues. If your router has a QoS/SQM option, it might be worth trying since that should prioritize FFXIV's traffic on your local network. This would normally show up on a trace route/ping test as dropped packets, but it's worth looking at even if it doesn't.

Maybe get a router cooler. Bad and overheating routers can cause problems. My stock D-Link router from ISP is crap. I switched to Asus RT-AC68U and no more issues.

Its adviseable to use LAN cables as well. Wireless is not recommended for gaming.

It's the hop that the ISP uses to get to NTT Sacremento where the NA data centers are. You might notice it in your trace route where the ping jumps from there to the NTT hops.

Of course distance is a factor with latency, but this is why VPN services are popular with the game, service connects you to a local region server that has less traffic, latency and likely shorter hop in their VPN network to NTT.

It used to always be Excellent for me. After 5.3 it started showing Poor.

I didn’t notice anything different in game. It still runs as if it was Excellent.

Since there was no hit to performance, I ignored it. But now I’m curious what is causing it.

Dont think it has too much to do with netspeed at this point and think in a couple weeks it will be worse.
