I'd like for them to be turned into materia also. I'm not looking to get seals back, but at least let me do something with the full spirit bonded items i have in my inventory that I can't sell...
If you can turn em into materia, hey guess what, you can sell the materia.
Also, idk about you guys but I like to collect gear.
I'd love for this to be implemented, I was thinking of buying some of the mid-level CG armor but then I realized I'd just replace it later, if there was a trade in option for 50-25% of my seals back I'd totally buy a piece or 2 of the mid level stuff.
You are going to say that with any gear you get. I'm sorry, I can get 2k+ seals in an hours time. Seals are not hard to get, if you are having invintory problems, you should manage it better. Also if they implemented level sync or level cap on things, you will need it.
It's called a choice, do I get this piece of gear wasting measly 1-2k seals, or wait for a few levels for something better, and save up my seals.
Collecting gear= Hoarder![]()
Okay, so I got a Gridanian Square Shield for my mage classes/jobs because it's a very nice little shield...and it still is. (Meaning I am not about to part with it anytime soon) But I do expect someday, it really won't be a good shield for me anymore. Why shouldn't I want to have some way to turn it in that seems more valuable than just throwing it in the street and/or letting it rot in my inventory? You are going to say that with any gear you get. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask that SE looks into a way for us to do something with GC gears once we no longer need them. It doesn't need to be that we get some seals back for turning them in, but there's gotta be a way to let players do something with these items when we've outgrown them other than tossing them in the street. Materia, Seals, Trade for shards/crystals/donate to hamlet defense...something.
Lastly, how exactly are you getting your 2K+ seals in an hour? Turning in provisions? ... or farming NM's or Toto-rak for drops? Because if you are farming NM's/Toto-rak for 'gears that you no longer need' only to turn them in for seals, IT IS THE SAME THING.

all of those are a good option seals, shards, materia, etc. its better to get something for old GC then nothing!
I'd be all for it, some may argue that materia can then be sold for hundreds of thousands, but really just tossing gear because is a shame.
Hell even if all I could do was NPC the stuff for say 1k*lvl_of_gear/10, at least it wouldn't be a total loss.

Getting 2k seals/hr is just a matter of having nothing else to do, once you've done everything and all your doing is Dungeons/Primals I'm sure it's not hard.
Like I said earlier though. Think about the people that aren't where you are, the people that still are working to get there, the people that actually need level 30/40 gear/weapons that are going to come after you.
I know it's in some peoples nature to be self centered and not think about what might help others out. Also try to realize that not everyone is in a position to do 8 hrs of AV/CC/etc. every day. Down the road all that saying, no give nothing back is doing is hurting people. Obviously not everyone, but those that aren't all 50's w/ every achievement that could benefit.
