Suggestion: Trade-in old GC gear for seals back

No ... what is with the trend of trading everything in ?

It's better than flooring it, since we can no longer npc this stuff, can't bazaar it, it's just a pure seal sink, the rationale here is that I just won't buy any GC gear before cap, at which point all that time/energy designing the GC gear below 50 was a complete waste. If I can trade it in for something then it was worth something while I used it and I get a little back when I return it and get the next step up.

I don't see much of a point really. It's all too easy to get to the seal cap as is... Plus a lot of them are just vanity items and if you didn't need them you shouldn't have spent your seals in the first place.

The only items I plan to get are the level 50 gathering and crafting items, because they are actually useful the rest of it is pretty subpar.

Unless of course your a new player working through all the jobs, then those weapons you could get for seals are useful, but only for a few levels then you toss all those seals on the floor because? Right because others can't see why trading them back in would be useful.
Remember not everyone has finished every job/class to 50 already, alot of that gear serves for lower levels not just vanity, don't get me wrong, some of it is purely vanity. Just because your at cap doesn't mean that kid that started playing 2 weeks ago has 17mil gil and capped seals already to toss around.
It's not all about what you need/want/have a use for. Others may benefit, or do we want everyone to just suck it up cause you can't use the gear.

I don't mean for that to be directed at any one person ... but rather everyone that doesn't think about those that will come after them and how our experience could be used to benefit someone else. I know I know that goes against the elitist nature ...

jinko say you bought a level 25 archers bow when GC were released, you used it you leveled up. what use is that bow now, it cannot be sold, you will not continue using it. things get more and more expensive(seal price) the higher you rank and the higher ranking items - so instead of throwing away that bow since thats all you can currently do with it now why not trade it in? it makes perfect sense

I wouldn't mind being able to trade certain GC items back once you outgrew them.

Although, another idea would be to make them somehow donatable to hamlet defense missions somehow. Maybe you could donate them before the battle phase to help fortify defense, and for doing so gain a couple seals/anima/top provisioner status...I don't know. Keep in mind, I think Hamlet Defense should reward a couple company seals based on performance too. But that's a different issue.

So yeah, it would be nice for old U/U Guild Company Gears to have some turn-in value.

Well if things have level caps, you are going to want that bow now huh or when level sync comes.

I didn't get a single response, like, or comment.

I'm glad to see 3 and a half months later people are more receptive to the idea.

But now that an entire grand company achievement is centered around obtaining 500K seals, this refund would likely be abused by achievement hungry adventurers. Theoretically you could buy back and refund the same piece of gear to increase your seals earned count... An easy solution to this would be making refunded seals not contribute to the achievement, which makes sense considering you already earned them before.

Maybe this time around we will get a rep response.
