So I recently got drk to 80 and i had fun with it but, when compared to my main tank gnb it leaves more to be desired. I'm not saying that it's bad or anything. Just not the best, and there's some changes that I'd like to see.
To preface, I only had a week of sb drk. So my thoughts are mainly from 5.x drk.
Blood Weapon- with drk, I think blood weapon should be a trait. The window is small. And i think mp regen isn't quite a thing I'm thinking about. But having everything restore mp isn't going to solve it. I think upon using edge/flood of darkness mp drain should be brought back. I liked the idea of using mp before its gone. And this is like that again.
Self sustainability- it's absolutely terrible. Many times I felt bad for not having anything to save me. I think that if blood abilities could heal based on damage dealt it would be more consistent. Nothing to be clutch for but, small like brutal shell and storms eye. Currently abyssal drain is our main healing tool in aoe. In single target it's absolutely terrible. I think having carve and spit being the single target equivalent could help. But it only helps if the cd wasn't a whole minute, and them having terrible potency. If both received a higher potency and a 30 second cd it would be an improvement
TBN/Dark Arts- I'm not sure how to say it but I like the idea of the "you've activated my trap card" with TBN. But I think they could do more with it. In my head I imagine all their single target defensive are changed to shields, that also proc dark arts. But, the difference is that they all have a different affect. Like one gives a free blood ability or temporarily upgrades your 123 combo. I feel like they're putting too much weight on TBN being the drk identity but not quite doing anything with it.
Conclusion- drk is in a bad spot, but nothing that can't be fixed if the devs bothered to care. But it's fun to me, mote than war imo. But it's nothing that I'd play for fun
6.x stuff
Enhanced unmend- just reading it makes me laugh. Like who wasted 6.x drk with that? But I think it's salvageable. Have unmend reset the plunge cd and that's infinitely better.
Salt and darkness- I can only see it working as a skill that ends salted earth if the mob pack is about to die or a boss is leaving.
