How PS3 Beta will be done i bet!

I'm gonna guess, since it's a beta, they'll use their own servers. That way if something goes wrong it won't affect the PC players and it is easier to narrow down the causes and whatnot since it's all on the same platform.

PC players are going to be in the same beta test. I don't see the point in server segregation when we should be stress testing both.

Right but also because it's a beta they're going to wipe all of the beta accounts. I mean I guess it's possible to do after integrating them within our servers but seems like it would be easier to just do it on a server of its own.

Edit: Actually, thinking about it, there's no way PS3 beta would be on our current servers. It's the 2.0 beta for PS3 only at that point so it would most certainly be on the new 2.0 servers.

In October the PC ver 2.0 Client gets distributed.

In November PS3 FFXIV goes into Beta
In November PC FFXIV goes into Beta

In November XIV will be on the ver 2.0 client.

I'm thinking since they will be wanting to see how the platforms interact with eachother, they will at somepoint in time merge them to the same server. With such a narrow window of beta testing (Nov-Jan) I'm gonna say they will probably have the lowest population servers as PS3 Beta targets from the get go.

Yes true. i'd like to be in same server's unless they don't want PS3 Beta tester nooblets to upset the older players. But i feel like it make are commouinty better nitted together.

Its the clients being beta tested not the server, both players will be Beta testing the game on the same servers, playing as we normally do now, the only difference is we'll be helping to squash out client bugs (since the content is being copied)

I'm going to play it on PS3 to see how it is.. never got the chance to do that with FFXI.. so this is something exciting for me!!.. also since its the "Actual Launch" for the PS3 Version.. I believe they will be shipping out discs.. but maybe not who knows really :P.. but since everything is going downloads now in days.. Probably right PSN Download.
