    Housing similiar to New World?

As everyone knows, housing in FFXIV is terrible. You have the people who buy and flip houses for coin and in the process screw over regular people who just want a house. New World has an interesting take on housing that I thought was great. As described in an article,

"...anyone can purchase any home in New World—even those owned by multiple players. While you’ll always see your home, other players will see their version of the house if they own that purchasable home. Players who don’t own a particular piece of property will see the player’s house that’s earned the most points at that location."

The points they're referring to are furnishing points and territory points for the settlement the plot is located in. I think this could help solve the plot crisis. A point system could be created that would incentivize people to participate if they wish for their house to be visible to other players. People who just want a house and don't care about showing it off wouldn't be obligated to participate as they still have access to the plot regardless. Points could be calulated during weekly maintanence and which plot displays whose house would then be deteremined.

The introduction of the lottery system doesn't seem like a very good solution to me as you may still have people who'll be so unlucky you'll never win. As far as I can tell, a system similiar to New World's seems like the best and most fair way to go about housing in FFXIV.

P.S. I searched for this topic but didn't find anything so I apologize if this is a duplicate thread.
