    High Latency [Tonberry]

Hello, I'm from Singapore and have just started playing FF14.

Currently I'm experiencing higher latency compared to other players in the region to JP Datacenters - average 180ms for me while others are getting anywhere from 60-90, even those that are using the same ISP as mine.

I have contacted my ISP on this issue and provided with the ping+tracert to them and they have replied that they tried to reroute my connection and it still comes back with 20+ hops and 180ms.

The network team requested for a reverse traceroute from the servers to me to check if the route is symmetrical - is there anyway to obtain this?

The IP that I've ping/tracert is 124.150.157.158 (taken from https://arrstatus.com/ under Elemental)

Any help would be appreciated . I have provided my tracert results at then end. Thanks!

Tracing route to 124.150.157.158 over a maximum of 30 hops

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Does this issue occur when the PC is connected directly to the router or is WiFi being used? Additionally, is the Final Fantasy XIV application allowed through the fire wall? When the latency occurs, are you signed on during a time many people would be playing?

    Hello,

Tested on both direct connection and WiFi, both yielded about the same results - 180ms average. Yes its allowed on the firewall. It is not a one-off issue, tested it throughout the day and during ungodly hours where there was no queue into the game. Tested the latency with another user of the same ISP and he is getting ~80ms average on the same time.

Will it be possible to provide the result of a reverse traceroute from the game server to my IP so that I'm able to provide it to my ISP for further investigation on their end?

    Thank you
