Frozen in MSQ (Storm Blood)

I'm on the "A Good Samurai is Hard to Find" questlin. For some reason I can't use one of the quest item needed to progress. When I click on the npc I need to show the item too, it says invalid target and when used alone, it says Can't execute at this time. Despite the NPC telling me to use this item.

Can you post a screenshot or something that shows the quest and the NPC? (and maybe the related quest item inside your quest inventory)

Reading up the quest on wiki, it seems you have to show the 'sketch' quest item to various NPC's, not just one. Maybe you already showed it to this npc and need to show it to others?

First 'viewing' the sketch together with Lyse, then 'showing' the sketch to Karaku, Kotokaze and to the Captains at the Pier.

I got that 2x in shadowbringers but it was because I accidently double clicked. When I slowed down and retried it worked. Hope you either figured it out or got help.

I'm not sure how to describe what the bug was but essentially my key item just wouldn't work until I tried using a different computer.
