You speak as if this is some kind of sophistry. While it "may" applies to this "kind" of post, but in this instance the OP looks bad exactly because it was taken at face value. The OP wasn't "trying to make himself look good" via lying and make one wonder if there is another side of the story, no he's getting on a megaphone and screaming "I AM BAD" from the top of his lung. In another word, I think the tank is bad in this case precisely because I don't doubt his word and I believe him what he claimed, just not his assessment.

It seems to me you just want to use this to spout some kind of philosophy, and like I said it may often apply to topic of this nature ... I think you swing and miss quite hard on this one. You implied others of nitpicking, but I think it was you who was trying to read what is not even written.

You must have misread the confusion and frustration he presented when he was first unintentionally abandoned by the group, which caused a wipe, followed by yet another wipe with all players present that he was promptly solely blamed for.

That's the point though ... regardless of whatever reason behind it, I'm reading the OP exactly as how he said it. This is not even about the OP really, simply pointing out the false pretense presented by the poster I was replying to. I'm thinking the tank is bad exactly because I'm simply taking what OP was saying at face value, not because I'm nickpicking or reading between the line. Both of you are trying to reach by adding some non-existence philosophical POV.

What even a false paraphrase?

- OP claimed he died within 2 seconds with 3 mobs on him ... not even a caster DPS would go down that fast. That's a bad tank.
- OP dismissed other suggestion of why he's not popping CD, saying he's not fast enough. So ... someone who's not fast enough to pop a CD but expecting the heal to come faster ... that's even worse than a bad tank, that's an entitled tank.

Basically, the OP fully admit he's a bad tank ... except he did so without even recognizing it.

I had said it earlier and I'll say it again: you're reaching ... with a 10ft pole. I'm not falsifying anything, all the detail came straight from a horse mouth. Like I said I only disagree with the assessment. It's like after a car wreck, you see a driver saying "yes I was on the phone, yes I was speeding and run the red light but it's not my fault mkay? The other driver should just be good enough to avoid me!"

What I and most others listened to that and simply say: No ... without trying to reach as hard as you do.

You have a point; OP doesn't sell himself as the ideal tank and from what he said he certainly made some errors.

But you've radically missed the point of what he said.

Just as you said, he made mistakes that he owned up to, but do you really think he posted in order to just ask for a beating.

That's where your frankly rude false paraphrase, your takeaway, misses completely. He was let down by his group and it caught him by surprise. That's what he is saying, and responses like yours, plainly meant to injure further, are why players fail to improve.

Edit: actually I don't understand your post at all. Yes the OP is already owing up to their wrongs and are "blaring from a megaphone" that they're a bad tank. Yet people still doubt any of this even happened, somehow. Because healers can do no wrong. Healers choosing to damage instead of keeping a 20% health tank up aren't in the wrong. It's OP who is wrong even though their own narration paints them as wrong. ??? What's happening here, lol?

See stuff like this is why I'm not the one nitpicking, you are. I'm not the one in this thread placing the OP on the stand and questioning them on every line they said, and every intention and thought and assessment they had. I made my funny post, I reply to people trying to draw bigger meaning from my silly post, I explain I believe the guy on what he said. There's no swings or misses I'm going for. IDK.
