Baffling behavior

You can get all sorts of players on pug. I just adapt. First pull already tells me how tough is the tank. I'll focus heal when tank is undergeared or pulling too much, dps more when tank handles really well. I've also seen tanks does silly things like undergeared tank pulling 2 or more groups. Healing just cannot keep up and sometimes no CDs on lower levels. I've experienced 2 wipes due to undergeared tank pulling 2 or more groups again not long ago.

I've also tanked. Pulling 2nd group depends on how often the healer keeps my HP full. I'll do 2nd group only when last mob remains on current group if I feel healing is questionable. I've seen DPS focused "healers".

Lets be clear once more: Even Shiva Savage dont melt the tank with the speed the OP discribes. Conclusion: he isnt telling the truth or he was undergeared - nothing else is possible.
On a broader picture - roulette is in the past weeks very "swingy", hit or miss - i have tanks that outperform dps and perfect handling of mobs or i get someone that dont even hold aggro, dont do any dps and spinns like a fidget spinner on illegal substances.. and i get blamed at the end, because healer=bad and should be ashamed.

Out of curiosity, I actually tried to do a little test going into Castrum Abania with minimum iLv setting. That syncs me down to ilv260 with 34,336 max HP. Probably not the same as OP's iLv at the time of mess, but I pulled the first 3 mobs anyway and just observed:

• The smaller mob hits for like 2.4k - 2.7k, not accounting parries nor criticals. After 2 or 3 GCD they cast a self damage buff that ramps up their auto attacks up to 3.5k per hit.
• The bigger, ape like mob hits for about 3.4k - 3.7k per hit. Seen a few crits that went up to 5.2k but they're quite rare. They also have a mini, instant tankbuster that deals about 7.5k.
• I also spam my own AoE rotation to keep track how much GCD passed for each attempt. The result, I never lived past 5th GCD without counting first Lightning Shot pull. I'm "lucky" enough if I can get off the 6th GCD, at all.
• The last few attempts I did before quit, I just ran past the first 3 mobs and went straight to the 2nd pack to aggro them. This time I did not lived past through 3rd GCD (if I see crit or tankbuster connects) or 4th GCD.

All of that done without pressing any cooldowns. Makes me wonder how lower can the game let people que into the duty, iLv wise.

I tried Badrams Meddle on purpose with only so much gear to get in aka i cheesed the ilvl (or "the naked trail for healers" keep me alive for a spot in the static llul<- this is a joke). I did this with friends and they did know what i was doing. And i can tell you the mobs shred you hard, i had almost less hp then our healer and got hit by everything like a truck... on a cargo ship! As we progessed through this "fun little experiment" i could never pull more then 1 group and even said group spanked me hard. As is geared my tank normal min ilvl and a little bit above ....: Oh wonder i didnt die in seconds. The mobs are hitting hard on min ilvl but not enough for the "i was dead in 3 seconds and could not press any buttons" phenomenon the OP discribes.

Unfortunately the pressure for healers to deal damage can lead to these kinds of things happening, that is why i advocate for removing healer dps in the healer forum.

A lot of players are only used to outgearing content and so they are unprepared for at level content but 3 gcd is plently of time to heal. I know op said 2-3 seconds but people are bad at judging time under pressure. Min ilvl is totally fine for gear. That is the required gear level after all. Wall pulls in ShB can kill in 2 gcds without mitigation yet people still can wall pull so 3 gcd is plenty of time.

It's hard to really blame anyone here since we encourage and normalize healers playing like this. It's just an unfortunate consequence of healer dps.

Min ilvl means nothing a level 80 can unequip all their gear except weapon and get enough ilvl to enter ARR 24 man raid or at least LotA. I'm sure that person will perform as good as someone with the same ilvl with full gear.

I don't even check tank gear so idk. Like its just never been an issue? Considering you can heal through stormblood dungeons even as three people without a tank, I think blaming gear and kicking someone is pretty lame. Especially after they listen and try to wall pull which i think is great. Now this person might be even more reluctant to wall pull in the future.

I've repeated this so many times, words are starting to lose their meaning at this point. Here's an abridged version:

1. OP queued for content they did not even have the Ilvl for by cheesing the system and equipping DPS and healer accessories.

2. OP did NOT wall-to-wall pull, they died to single pulls of 3 mobs (by their own admission) due to their HP absolutely melting (their own admission again) and not using a single mitigation ability to help the healer out (yep, admitted to that one too).

3. OP then decided the best course of action was to berate the healer for not managing to keep their SEVERLY UNDERGEARED and NON-CD USING self alive.

If you don't check their gear how do you know it is or not an issue?
