Because wow is a terrible game now that I have exhausted all use in playing. Doesn't mean I'd run to them just because I find them nicer. I just instead play neither of these games at all and play the other mmos often overlooked over these giants. I'm sure there's a lot of people who don't want to feel stuck between a nearly 20 year old game on life support and pretty much the same game but for weebs...

Like any other game, this game has its fair share of naughty boys & girls. My friend was jokingly calling herself the S word for wearing the level 80 dancer gear, and then some person said “reportable btw” and after that she found herself in the game’s prison. It’s unfair because she didn’t call anyone that but herself. And I suppose some people get a bit too offended by jokes.

It's funny how some peple blame the passive-agressivness to the ToS, some others to WoW players...

Truth is people have always been like that, long before either. The difference is that without the strict policies, people did both. Both people who straight out tell you to kill yourself if you fail mechanics and backstabbers used to fester. At least now the first type has to shut up because of rules. And of course the second kind are more something you meet as you join fcs/make friends than in a DF run, so to some people it may not be apparent and they'll say how perfect this community is. I actually quit twice for years because of how bad this community can be, so I'm both happy it got better overtime (unlike what some people say) and about the stricter rules.

This thread has kind of run its course, hasn't it? It died 11/30 and then someone bumped it.

I think it's fair that people have the ability to weigh in on it but it feels like all relevant points that could be said have been. There are always going to be people who disagree on matters on - well, everything.

But, overall, in spite of all our disagreements, I still think we have something good here, something worth defending, something worth being critical on to keep working to improve.

We don't want to become complacent, but we don't want to take what we have for granted either. This is a good place, overall. And I'm constantly reminded of how much this small island feels like home in a sea of other craziness.

But if we don't take the time to make sure it stays that way (or gets better) it will decline.

So while I don't think being open and friendly is a lie. But on the same token it is not a universal truth. People's mileage may vary. Best we can do is do what we can to be the good examples rather than the bad.

I've been called a toxic raider before in Orbonne when it was still fresh.

Why? Because after two (or three? Dunno) wipes of Thundergod because people STILL did not pay attention....

I told them to pay a little bit of attention for the circles and mechanics. I dont raid other than occasional on content extremes, i dunno.
And got flamed because i told people to turn the Mathboss around in Lighthouse because "It doesnt matter since no cleave"

Theres always toxic and passive agressive people. I could say that theres a certain group of people tends to be more toxic than others, but i won't... (its not who you think it is anyways)
Pretending that anything is perfect with no bad people is just always wrong. That's not how it works and it will never work, because some people dont care about some respect. Be it in RL, or in Games.

To me a lot of perception of toxicity in people is exactly that - perception based upon your own interpretations which may (or may not) be correct. Constructive criticism is not wrong - having a good grasp of communication and empathy is a good thing.

One rule in life should be the same in MMOs - if you have not got anything nice to say then don't say anything.

Toxicity is a simple excuse for many for the sake of any inconvenience lately. I hardly doubt that most People can even properly say what toxicity even means without looking it up.

Things and Errors should be called out properly, even if it means exposing them. It isnt a bad thing to be a bad player in itself, but if a bad player hides behind the masses to inconvenience 23/7/3 other Players just to get a cheap clear, THAT is a bad thing, especially so if its happening in a Farming/Clear Party where you are expected, to know the stuff.

Passive aggressiveness is just being hypocrite i tend to have absolutlely no respect for such people, to fight against somebody is far better for me, having a constructive argument even if it hurt is 100 time better or bluntly fight lol, you know where to stand at least. Even more, you have a better chance to reconcile.

I hate that shit so much, passive aggressiveness is such a pussy way to "solve" conflict.
