Unfortunately that seems to be the case. Plus there's a lot of people on reddit who get really angry if you criticise certain fan faves and then the supposedly non-toxic community bares its teeth. I've got rather thick skin, so I just ignore it, but it does amuse me when people claim this game's community is not toxic - maybe most players aren't, but it certainly has its own vocal portions... including people who brag about how "wholesome" said community is.
