"Everyone's so open and friendly" is a lie

I am absolutely disgusted, and I hate this concept of people wanting to talk, be social and make friends one minute but without warning having done nothing people suddenly refuse to speak. It's flat out hypocritical and disingenuous.

You can and in my opinion, you should refuse to speak and walk away if you realize that a starting friendship is not working out... Just like in real life. If you get to know people, they are friendly to you at the initial meeting, then you get to know each other and you might not be friends at the end. There are discussions that will make your realize: "oh well, maybe we are just not very compatible as people". ATM There are many players in the game, if someone is not going to be your friend, then I would just move on and find another group. It happens unfortunately.

Being open and friendly does not mean that people are obliged to instantly become your BFFs...

Also, I think many creators have already shined the reality of the fact that THERE ARE bad apples. (Even Zepla made a vid where she read comments of people stalking each other and being disgusting and so on). I think most FF players don't think that FFXIV community is perfect, but the vast majority is pretty chill and friendly. Also this in comparison to other online games...


I understand what you mean. That some people use the new rules as a weapon for being snowflakes. But I have not met many people like that, thank god. And the ones I met I just blacklisted. I really don't want to spend 30 minutes explaining to someone that saying for a typed msg "sounded mean the way you typed it" when it literally cannot "sound" in any way as it is a written text... Some people just misunderstand things by the text chat and get upset cause they think a msg had a tone, that in reality was not the intention of the original player. I have seen this even at work, when people misunderstand "tone of the msg". It's pretty normal.

Also, considering how many people play this game, it is inevitable to have goods but bads too. It's like saying US has only FAT people just because the avg weight is above world normals... not everyone is fat. Or just because some people say US people are stupid, of course no one thinks everyone is stupid. I said two US example and sorry for that... but that was the easiest for me to bring up.
