I think OP needs to probably look at themself and at how they behave if all they are getting is negative experiences. Negative experiences grow in the environment people create.

If you feel like the terms of service is inhibiting your ability to socialise within the game, or provide feedback to where you feel the need to be passive-aggressive or outright disable chats then I would say it's highly likely that you may either be toxic, or give comments which is nonconductive to a person learning or progressing.
I would stand to argue that most people arguing the 'heavy-handedness' of the terms of service would rather quickly contradict themselves when they're on the receiving end of it.

The victim is never at fault for the willful actions of another person. It's hard to judge a situation and how easy it may be for someone to avoid it when they could potentially be financially restricted or, in general, unable to properly express themselves like that. Not everyone has the same access to authority, and authority doesn't always help the right person. There is a lot of mistrust. It happens all the time.
It's never a victim's fault for the actions of someone else. They are the ones doing it. Roundabout ways to blame the victim do not really track.
really fighting and arguing only causes people to dig in their heels on a subject even more. there is more and better ways to discuss and settle issues then arguing and fighting. honestly i have found the community very positive and as i play new jobs even have had people provide tips and offer advice as oppose to just attacking me for being the worst. really though if you arent happy with the game or its rules maybe the game isnt for you. people should play games that make them happy. games are meant to be enjoyed so its a shame if you have had some bad experiences.
Domestic violence is a notoriously difficult social problem to deal with.
Not being a naughty little potty mouth in the DF is not even remotely hard to do.
Quite why people are trying to equate them is beyond me to be honest. Talk about comparing apples and oranges.
Very true, the reply to it was just a bad take. Probably best to not pursue that line of discussion
We all can agree that the blame ultimately lies with beater, so don't try to twist my words. The victim is never at fault for the willful actions of another person. But I am saying that there is always something that the victim can do, generally speaking. If you're going to try to stack the circumstances against the victim so that they are unable to ask for help or get themselves away, well, good for you, I suppose. But at that point, I think it's even more irrelevant to compare it to in-game experience.
Not a bad take, just show one's true color when it's something they dont care about, was sure i would get an answer like that anyway hence the need to post it, didn't have to wait long tho.
If I don't care about it, I wouldn't even suggest the victim to leave and report the boyfriend. But of course, you just want to see what you expect to see, which perhaps shows your true color.
Im sorry you've had a bad experience, but its important to remember that anecdotal evidence doesn't always reflect what everyone else experiences. My time has been very pleasant, I can count on one hand the number of times ive seen people being rude or even silent after a wipe that was my fault. Most of the time I simply explain my mistake and people seem to be perfectly fine with it. My experiences are anecdotal as well, clearly, but it does fall in line with the reputation that the game is known for. Ive seen very toxic games, I really dont mind them that much myself, but honestly that kind of thing makes a video game worse. Jerks being forced to remain silent in a game is quite a different situation than families who cant communicate. But regardless I hope your experience improves, and if you ever want a friendly party member who wont be passive aggressive, feel free to add me to your friends and we can run some content if your on Primal =)
so.. you say anecdotal evidence doesnt always reflect what everyone else experiences....then proceed to provide anecdotal evidence yourself? the only thing they are trying to say is that people need to be allowed to have civil discourse where you can talk out your problems like human beings, we arent all children that need babysitters watching our every move are we? is anyone here so soft and weak that they cant have a quarrel with a friend and make up? id say you arent friends at all if thats the case because friends argue all the time, sometimes about trivial stuff but they move on from it, its like if you were in your house arguing with a parent, spouse, friend, or sibling, then the police show up to separate you so you dont argue anymore, without being called and yes, sometimes in some situations that can help, but you dont use a sledgehammer on a nail, now do you? thats all, i think thats being said here
