If that's what they're asking, then they can already do that right now, so this thread is pointless unless they're not asking for simply that.

Their join date is Nov. 2021 and their viewpoint or opinion could be influenced by an outside party. We already had a thread where people assumed that the change in ToS simply means you could not disagree with anyone ever, not unless you want an infraction or a suspension.
Not everyone who has an opposing or differing viewpoint on how the game or its community works is a bad actor or someone trying to incite controversy. Instead of immediately assuming the negative in someone you literally do not know maybe try hearing them out properly first. People in this thread were so focused on telling OP they were wrong they didn't even bother to show it.

I think you're giving the OP too much credit. They only have two posts and never bothered to clarify if people were wrong about them.

In fact, they argue against passive aggressiveness, but is entirely silent in this thread other than those two posts (unless their additional posts got deleted in a supposed purge I wasn't aware of).

The original post got edited in the OP they wanted to have license to verbally abuse other people and claimed it was the rules that caused the problem. The whole OP has been edited so we are now left with where the conversation has gone. It's now a rambling mess.

I think you're giving them too little credit? Why would you want to return to a thread that in less than 24 hours had almost 11 pages, a lot of which were spent ridiculing the OP for having a different experience or viewpoint? Why would anyone want to return to a thread after being dogpiled on by sarcastic and passive aggressive remarks?
You're implying I shouldn't give OP the benefit of the doubt because they're new to the forums or never came back? Someone always has to be new and I wouldn't blame someone for not coming back.
It could've simply been that they had gotten their issue off their chest because a specific incident or person triggered this feeling, as well.

Again, people were too busy trying to shut OP down or simply tell them they're wrong entirely before even asking them why they even felt that way to begin with.

One of the first replies made nearly 35 minutes after the OP's post has a quote of the OP and is unedited(the reply, not the OP). Quotes do not update with the original post being quoted so I sincerely doubt this is the case.

I love how you proved the poster post wrong and they didn't even apologize for the straight up lie to make the OP look like a bad person, instead saying stuff like;
"just act maturely and you won't have a problem" or earlier, "It's okay to be frustrated it's not okay to turn Timmy OP into a punching bag. The rules are fine, just don't turn your fellow players into punching bags." I think my very original esoteric point was that: yeah, I believe the ff14 community is reasonably friendly for online game community, claim of friendliness and openness is nor lie but not 100% truth in every situation always, either. As should be expected. We are just people after all.

You can edit a post multiple times, and it does t tell you how many or what was edited, so it's entirely possible the opening post was in fact quite different

it was edited 4 minutes after the initial post, the first response was posted at the same time of the edit, the 3rd way after and yet neither mentioned anything to what snorky said it did? come on, don't make excuses for someone straight up lying to appear better...

If that is too graphic for you the what do you think the original post is about? Is it okay for the OP to want to be able to express themselves including being angry at someone in game bit it's not okay to tell the OP you shouldn't treat people that way. nowhere in OP was any of this mentioned and yet that's what your post very clearly implies, that the OP wanted a license to insult people and that they edited the post later to hide that fact, which is, guess what, a lie you straight up made up

There is room in between using harsh language and being passive aggressive. The problem seems to come from both extremes, whereas I suspect many in the community can be comfortable not doing either.

But if people want to continue to frame it as only those two extremes with no other choice, then I have yet to be convinced to think that passive aggressive is not more tolerable than outright toxicity for the reason I've stated earlier in the thread.
