I'm actually surprised at the amount of people who think it's justified to start cussing at strangers because they're frustrated. No one made you say anything except yourself.
Thank you for your feedback, but I refuse to converse with you any further of fear of loosing my account for disagreeing with you. Thank you and have a nice day.
Interesting state of mind. No skin off my back though.
It's not something that needs to be justified it's a natural reaction when things happen.
Step on a lego, hit your toe, accidentally burn yourself cooking the first thing you will say is either fuck or god damn it. This is true for everyone I been around.
People are forgetting humans have a natural instinct to get out the things boiling within them be it cursing or other. I would much rather everyone get out their emotions, issues virtually than going into real life and doing it in worse ways than just words.
Honestly most likely the reason things so horrible in real life this days is because streamers made gaming for everyone so now there is no escape, no way to let out negative emotions scream shout curse etc.
Honestly virtual sights, games need to return to 2010 ways and stop beimg on their high horse acting like they wouldn't react when stressed, frustrated. When many players play games to relax from having to remain silent and holding in negative pressure.
Not everything needs to be justified or "normal" things could just be a way to get out thoughts, and frustration.
Heat of the moment exist and things can happen that prevent the ability to think. People ignore this by saying "reasonable" but noone knows how they will react to it until they are put in the exact same situation. That is impossible due to every situation being different.

I really do not understand your point about streamers, however I'll never consider it normal get so upset that it would be even an impulse to start cussing at people over video games. That honestly just feels very unstable.Honestly most likely the reason things so horrible in real life this days is because streamers made gaming for everyone so now there is no escape, no way to let out negative emotions scream shout curse etc.

For what it's worth, some of the kindest people I have ever met happened to swear like sailors. I don't know why so many people in the present day act like the simple act of swearing is some horrid, unforgivable sin. Yet it is what it is with the rules as they are, I suppose.
On the other hand, I have consistently found people overly concerned with the use of tone and language to be some of the nastiest, spiteful and manipulative individuals that I have ever encountered. I've also found them to be pretty flaky and unreliable.
I think most reasonable people take a 'live and let live' approach in-game and in the real world. If they have a negative interaction with someone, they're generally not going to go out of their way to pretend like it's the worst thing ever unless it's a major overstep and persistent thing. In other words, most people aren't going to reach for the report button because they had a bad run in a dungeon.
On the other hand, there is a certain type of individual who will act on any slight - real or perceived - and rush to gleefully report someone for the slightest reason, be it differences in opinion, a single swear word, a dash of sarcasm. These people genuinely believe that anyone who doesn't think, act or talk like they do should be banned and excluded altogether.
That isn't me saying that everybody should be able to say whatever they want. Some things are certainly worthy of a ban. However, I've yet to see many businesses in the present day acknowledge that there is a sizable movement of individuals who seek to weaponise terms of service in their favour over the most pettiest of slights.
From what I've seen, the FFXIV community has a staggeringly high proportion of such individuals. Weirdly, for all the concern they express over tone and words they tend to be exceptionally vile outside of the game. Far beyond anything they criticise. Such as the numerous individuals who I have seen hunt people down outside of FFXIV in order to send them death threats and insult them over liking and disliking certain characters.
I envy those within the FFXIV community who haven't been exposed to such things. I really do.
My point is they bring in this "normal" types into gaming that Honestly dont belong in the gaming world. Also many people game as its a safe place were they don't have to worry about being "unstable" which is why they arent social in real life.
Streamers did what now? You are giving them far too much credit. They are good marketing for sure but they are little fish in the giant lake of the gaming market.

As for going back to 2010, no thanks. I dont want to have to sit and listen to kids and manbabies hurling abuse around 247 like they used to back on MW2 xbox live. It was funny at first but got very boring very quickly.
As for your overall point about letting out emotions, there is no walk of life where flipping your lid everytime you don't get your own way is acceptable. Sure sometimes it happens but its pure heat of the moment stuff. It should be the exception, not the rule.
Started playing in late Sept, and it has so far been true in my experience. I have no joke, never once come across a toxic person, and people have been very nice and helpful. At worst, people just don't say anything.
Obviously experiences will differ for each person. No matter what game you play, there will always be morons and aholes.
Sure, people being too nice can be a detriment aswell tho. Like if a guy constantly makes the same mistakes over and over again, you should be able to tell him that he is doing something wrong. You just gotta present it in a good way.
I have no clue what people "don't belong in the gaming world." What is a "normal" type?
Gaming is literally for everyone.
The idea that we should just put up with people verbally harassing others because "gaming is their safe space to harass others" is absolute nonsense.
Let's not pretend they were talking about casual conversation with some salty language. Everyone I know swears all the time, but there's a major difference when you aim it at people like a weapon. They specifically said they were cussing at people who were "frustrating" them because they were "throwing a pvp match."For what it's worth, some of the kindest people I have ever met happened to swear like sailors. Like let's be real for a second.
