SMN is considered easy by high level players.
The sheer amount of double weaving in SMN and watching for actions to come up makes it a much more complex Job than RDM, even though it has a big window of unrestricted movement. The OP has said they have ADHD issues and since watching dots and watching timers is a learned skill I don't think it's easier in any case than RDM for what the OP is able to do.

I like dancer because it's simple and feels good (and looks good)
Machinist is in a similar vein, but too active for me to relax while playing, tbh.
BRD is definitely not the answer here. Keeping up with your songs and each of their buffs along with your oGCDs, triggered effects, procs sometimes, not other times, support abilities, etc. It is not easy and a mediocre BRD is worse than a bad DNC or MCH.
MCH is probably the easiest DPS in the game, in my opinion, followed up by DNC, both of which are ranged and do not have cast bars. I don't think the abilities themselves are what make a class easy or hard, but the circumstances in which you can continue using them. Cast bars in general make a class harder by default because there are mechanics that make you.... move. And if you are learning, you will not know how to efficiently cast without being in circles. We may find it easy, but a new player may not. Melee also makes a class harder, because you have a very limited range to actually do things, and must manage that range (and possibly positionals) which can often require more fight knowledge than being at range.
BRD was my first dps back in 2.x because it was easier then than now, even.
I find SAM to be rather easy but it is incredibly structured and sort of based more around completing a specific order of abilities in a tight timeframe where mistakes punish you by costing you further time in trying to recover from it (ie, not getting a seal by accidentally not completing a combo).
MCH is the meme streamer choice since you can have medium/high dps relative to everyone else with minimal effort. DNC is easy but you have to pay attention to the procs and know how to use your support abilities effectively.
Overall, I really think MCH is the easiest. I use MCH for farming mats and just about nothing else, because it's hecking boring to play.
As a fellow newbie, I've tried Red Mage, Machinist and Ninja at 70+ and some others at varying levels and my pick for easiest would be Machinist. The ability to continue DPSing while moving is a big plus in terms of 'forgiveness' and the rotation is fairly straightforward. It also has a lower button count compared to some of the other classes which make the learning curve all the easier.
Perhaps its simplicity may get tedious over time and you'll find yourself craving a greater challenge, but that's the beauty of FFXIV and its multi-job system. As for myself, I'm still loving my little Machinist and taking it as my main into Endwalker. People can mock the choice all they want, I'm having fun with my newbie class and I'm not a burden to groups trying to figure out overly complicated rotations, so that's all that matters to me ^.^
Regardless of what you pick, it needs to be fun to you. That alone will push you to hone your skills out of love for the job.
I have 3 suggestions![]()
MCH - currently levelling this and honestly, I thought it was going to be more complicated. It’s pretty straight forward and does high damage… a lot of the actions are incredibly satisfying. I wish I tried this job sooner!
DNC - aesthetically pleasing and will be my job I use while doing the MSQ in Endwalker. I love the moves despite it being RNG based, it has handy ‘dash’ actions for a quick get away from AOE so that’s useful in raids.
RDM - I was so obsessed with Red Mage for a long time. Something is just so appealing about casting white and black magic and occasionally zooming in for some cheeky melee DPS. If you want a good ‘all rounder’ and a job that’s independent, definitely red Mage.
All of the people recommending MCH should probably add the caveat that you need a pretty low ping to even be physically able to play it correctly, doesn't matter how simple the rotation is.
True but you can play it well enough by using the abilities after Hypercharge is over, especially at level 74 when you get a third charge of Gauss Round and Ricochet.
Okay, I'm starting with WM and then leveling up to 50/60 on other characters and going into RDM/DNC. How is the other jobs to level? for example in dungeons. only got experience of CNJ so far. My plan was leveling a Thauma until 50 and go RDM. Then either WAR/ARC just to also try all the starting places. Well, i guess it's all about getting into the jobs and it all works out in the end. Just wanted good entry jobs.
I'm also really thankful for all the advices and response i've gotten. Story have been amazing so far and enjoying the other bits too.
