[dev 1009] Volume adjustment window broken

I could find no tag that fit this description best.

But if you go to the in-game menu, open up the volume tab, and reduce all three sliders, even to 0%, the environment / weather effects and some other small sounds still play at 100% volume.

You can technically go to the ffxiv configuration tool 'out of game' and disable the entire sound driver, and this works. But to adjust the game volume you have to completely leave the game.

If I'm crafting, I like to have some music playing, or if I'm partying, doing leves with friends and we want to use Ventrillo, I have to disable the sound because I can't hear anyone 'well' over the environment noise.

If you reduce all fields of volume in-game, it should 'actually' reduce all volume output.

What she said. I would like to see an "Ambient Noise" volume slider added as a separate option.

I'd like a mute feature for each bar. When I'm crafting I get tired of the synthesis music after a while and want to turn it off entirely, but the rest of the time I generally leave the music on. Right now I have to slowly move the slider all the way up or down to do this.

Yea i hate that too. Needs to have a Ambient sound bar so we can turn that wind howl and running water down.

I agree, but those of you on Vista/w7 can right click the little sound manager in your taskbar and disable the sound for ffxiv until they do. Thanks to a guildie who told me about this.

As for trying to find an appropriate devtag for your topic, don't worry about it! Not every topic needs to have a devtag for us to find it! We're still working each day to go through the forums and see what's going on, so you don't need to rack your brain to try and find something remotely similar to your topic if there doesn't exist one!
