Would you Guys wanna see Golemancy become a Job Class?

It's a form of magic used primarily by the people of Ampador during the 5th Astral/Umbral Era that was brought to its peak of perfection when they included the use of White magic to partially breath life into their golems. Hence why the two Golem bosses we fight in the city of Ampador move around as if they were actual living creatures.

I think it would be a great idea if it was brought back as a future job class someday and lore wise, the elementals only allow a select few people to learn the job class like White Mage because of its use of White magic.

Either that, or Golemancy is brought back in a way where it couldn't use White Magic, due to the Elementals not allowing it. Which would be pretty much the Golemancy the people of Amapdor used before applying White magic to their golems to make them more powerful.

So what do you all think? Would you all want a job class like this in the future or no? And if you do, what are your ideas as to how you would implement it into the game?

    I'll go first:

I thought of Golemancy users not utilizing
White magic when summoning and controlling their personal golem, but instead summoning pieces of their golem exclusively with their own aether, like Red Mages do when weaving magic spells, and that attack by mimicking the user's movements by keeping a steady and constant flow of aether flowing between the Golemancer's red gemstone studded gloves (the same type of gemstones the final boss of the Lost City of Ampador has attached to her hands and chest), which would be our main weapons, through the same red gemstones stones attached to parts of the golem's body, such as the hands, legs, torso and head.

By making certain movements with their hands, as if they were doing shadow puppetry, the Golemancer can control specific parts and functionalities of their golem that would seem otherwise impossible to do.

For example, the head and torso of the golem would have a special compartment hidden within the mouth and certain other parts of the golem's body that allows it to fire powerful beams of aetherial energy to damage groups of enemies either in a straight line or cone before them.

So in order to control firing mechanism inside the mouth, the Golemancer would position their hands in order to make the shape of a mouth where it opens the golem's jaws by having it mimic the user's movements and open the jaw hands while pushing forward, causing an aetherial energy blast to launch from the golem's jaws.

And the Golemancer won't always just summon their golem in pieces; there's a reason why the Golemancer does this besides conserving aether. They also would do this in order to slowly charge each part of their golem's body parts with aether, like how Machinst and Red Mage charge up their "lunch box" and White/Black magic gauge in order to summon the Queen Turret and perform a closer range flurry of powerful magically enhanced rapier attacks.

The Golemancer does this in order to temporarily summon their Golem for big damage, before it eventually runs out of aether, breaks apart and goes away.

Also, the Limit Break 3 for Golemancer would be summoning a giant golem, like the one we help build in Shadowbringers in order to reach Lord Vathrey, where it brings down its massive fist on its enemy(s) for big damage.

And as for what type of job class it would be...for the time being, I can see my idea for Golemancer be a ranged selfish DPS sort that only has to use a cast timer for a split second to charge up certain attacks, like aetherial energy blasts.

Anyways, I want this thread to be a fun place to talk about the potential of Golemancy, so I hope to hear what everyone thinks and what their own ideas would be for it if you want to be an actual job class someday and if not, please tell us why you don't think it would be a good class for FFXIV.

Unless SE can show that they can clean up pet AI, I do not ever want to see another per class in this game.

Aren't we starting to see them do that with Endwalker? I've been hearing from a few FFXIV youtubers how Scholar's faerie reacts alot better in the Endwalker beta than it does now.

It depends. How does your kit work with server tics? Will Seraph still cancel cast? My longest "Seraph is stuck in traffic" moment was 12s. Basic QoL like fairy tethering (keeping them in one place) doesn't break during basic mechanics where you are then forced to weave back in replacement (if Selene is moving, she's not casting. Keeping her glued to one spot is important). How many pet casts get eaten due to conflicting GCDs and tics? I'd want to see SCH run without a hitch for an entire expansion before theorycrafting another pet class.

I *really* like the lore of the Soulkin in Encyclopedia Eorzea, and their uses in both Amdapor and Nym fill me with great curiosity.

OP, the Job from a lore standpoint would have me on board 100%. But as LisSquid pointed out, this game doesn't do pets. Really, at all. The closest you get is a single button activation that puts one of your damage effects on screen and that damage effect happens to look like another character. Pet Jobs are something you have extensive control over, to specific benefit. That doesn't work in this game because the specific benefits are divided into roles, DPS, tanking, healing.

The ideal circumstance would be that a pet Job has an opportunity to at least be a tank and a DPS. A healer too, ideally. That doesn't work in this game where a job has to be one role.

It could work if the open world had dangerous enemies and challenges worth taking on by yourself and with a pet, the way you could with a Hunter in WOW or with a SMN or Beastmaster or Puppetmaster in FFXI, but it doesn't.

So the design avenue is sadly a dead end. It's why SMN in FFXIV is basically just another caster.

SMN is already 16% Golemancer now (and about 50% Geomancer). I don't really need any more.

I'm mostly shutting you down because I am sick of hearing people clamor for BST like it was ever a good idea in any game except X-2 (and even then it was the worst job).
