Previously, I used to think the idea of butt sliders were just people being weirdos. Now? I see people's point of view, but obviously I couldnt before because I would always wear my Viera panties which gave my character a nicer looking behind.

Instead of butt sliders, why not just update all the characters to give them a plumpier butt? Not to an unnatural extent obviously. I created a fantastic glamour the other day and once I took my viera panties off, it gave me a pancake butt & it just looks so strange.

Basically, if they altered character models it would likely require going back over every single piece of gear that's visible on the lower portions of a character in every single animation, and possibly even in every combination, to make sure things work and don't cause excessive clipping, etc. Plus, there are people who like and/or are just used to the current models that wouldn't want their character to be changed, so any change even if it seemed like a no-brainer has to be weighed against the people who like the current situation.

For the record, I'd like to see a butt slider or just bigger butts too, but it's not really a "simple change."

I don't think altering the character model itself would even do anything because as soon as you equip a piece of gear that model effectively replaces that part of the body, so they'd also have to alter every piece of lower body gear to not have pancake butt anymore.

This is why I believe we will never see body sliders

Never saw the appeal in using the 2B bottoms, or the viera bottoms with 97% of gear. It doesn't match the majority of glams I see people using them with.

I like the 2b bottoms when used in some sort of leotard getup, but I have mentioned before that the 2b bottoms on their own look like some sort of lewdy granny panties.

Indeed... got my fingers crossed that they re-use the frame for future Moonfire Faire stuff, but with a more flattering cut for the straps. And make something for guys to while they're at it. 2B butts for everybody.

This is what I’m hoping for, if they can’t add body options then they can change the body shape through gear like with the 2B leggings.

It's not so simple unfortunately because of how gear is actually visualized in game. Leg pieces actually completely swap out a portion of the character model. Just adding a slider at character creation doesn't make all the current gear reactive to that adjustment. That would require adjusting every single piece of older gear as well, which easily creeps into thousands of pieces to adjust and then review for clipping/tearing issues. Which would also need to be done to make more leg pieces have a more distinct butt as you suggested. It's a lot of additional work on top of maintaining regular patch cycle content.

I think the best we can hope for at this point is that more leg pieces in the future are designed and implemented with better butts... It's been a long long time since they've done it, but they released their metrics before (sometime between the end of ARR and during HW) where they showed that they can see what everyone is glamouring already. So we know they can see the actual numbers of what are the most used glamour items. With the amount of ppl that use 2B leggings and the Viera Pantalettes for glam now... hopefully they'll be motivated to add some more options in the future.

A number of those people may be using them for the tights tho, and not the butt. I know I do, I don't care about butt size, I can't even see it in 99% of my glams anyway.

But the tights are the only pair we have that are transparent.
