you can use Shadow of Death during shroud, so you can always use that to weave at least one slice, assuming you're at 30 seconds or less on Death's Design. Harvest Moon occasionally, too?
You're always going to do less dps than an equivalently skilled player on lower ping, regardless of how the job is designed. The priority should be on designing for fun gameplay, and Shroud with its 1.5s GCD hits the spot. It's also interesting to note that they could have done weaves on every GCD like GNB does, but it just wouldn't be nearly as satisfying. This has just the right rhythm.
I would strongly encourage more job design experiments like this.
I disagree, Shroud would be even more boring without it you'd just be spamming 1 2 with a 3 at the end.
Having something to weave makes it at least a little more fun even tho it's already pretty braindead as it is.
I'd much rather remove the Lemure weaves but increase the potency of the GCD reaps slightly to compensate (it is a 1.5 second GCD as it is!)
It's not as bad as MCH for clipping impact but it tries.
The best solution would be for SE to update the animation lock to allow more compensation for lag.

Soulsow/Harvest Moon does feel somewhat out of place. Gives you something to do during very long downtime, I guess? But an ability you press two, at best three times during a 10-min fight feels weird, and it's not that great damage anyway.
You use harvest moon between every single pull in dungeons though. And I'm really starting to miss having something like it in trials/raids that do have downtime on every job that just has to hang around.
In dungeons Soulsow is basically never used or I can't think of any immediate example at least where it is.
But in EX it is and I am sure it will be in Savage too.
Edit: I obviously mean the charging of it, not the instant inbetween pulls.
But the same could be said about basically any charge ability like that, it's the same with meditate on SAM for the most part.

Dungeon bosses don't go untargettable long enough for charging Soulsow to be viable.
In anycase, RPR is pretty much my main job and I'm sure with all the people calling for nerfs, it'll have like a 120% damage nerf so that even healers can outdps it.
My only complaint is that I don't like that the soul/shroud AOEs require targets, but that's tolerable since the basic AOEs do not.
