Rather learn the class on my own instead of skirt chasing for the best meta opener. Hotbar setup is indeed more important to me as a controller player. I'd rather build gauge to cap, do back to back Shroud and then force a 3rd shroud under AC + Harvest.

Over 45 seconds you will be doing 10,000-11,000 potency easily. Looking at their kit they have no real damage buff either outside of DD and reaching the 10% increased damage Det threshold for permanent 20% damage buff. The 3% AC buff is not much IMO.

In around the same timeframe for BLM which is about 18 casts of Fire 4 if conditions are perfect they can reach around 9,000 to 10,000 potency as well.

LB3 I think is 9000 potency upfront?

3 shrouds one after another is going to be quite beefy with I assume 6-8 seconds of downtime after each Shroud. In which you can throw out Harvest Moon, recharge and reapply Shadow and go into your next Shroud. Can probably throw down your damage shield as you charge up to stand in fire and not care and enjoy that regen. And I think it'll flow well because Soulsow charge time is 5 seconds and the shield is 5 seconds as well. EZ. 4 Shroud attacks is 6 seconds, Communion is 2.5s, 5 seconds of GCDs of HM/SoD along with 5 seconds of HM recharge. So 18.44 seconds which leads into your next Shroud since Shroud recast time is 15 seconds.

I think players can spend Shroud in whatever way they want and just use Arcane Circle when they see raid buffs go up or when they want another Shroud. It's looking like a lot of fun IMO.

You're not supposed to use Soul Sow during uptime; even casting three Harpes, RPR's weakest single-target GCD, is 50% more potency per GCD over Soul Sow > Harvest Moon.

I suppose you could delay using stacks on Shroud and Harpe/SoD spam before going ham. That might work out better honestly. And would make for smoother transitions without wasting 7.5 seconds for 600 potency. In that case SoD being instant instead of the 1.3s cast time would be preferable.

Very naisuu. Seems using Soulsow between dungeon pulls and boss invuln phases is it's sad fate in the same vein as OG Monk Meditation for Chakra.

It seems like a big waste to use Soulsow during uptime, or excessive Harpes or Shadows at all, honestly. I think at that point you'd be better off to set up your rotation such that you don't have to do that. I don't really see the big gain of doing 3 Communio combos in a row, since most raid buffs will only last 15s. With a Summoner in the party it would probably be worth it to shift things around, but otherwise it seems easier to just do one Communio at the odd minutes and use only two at the two minute burst.

Do we know if the phantom model scales with your character, or does it has a set size?
I guess it could be somewhat distracting if it does, but hopefully not as much as Automaton Queen, I recall it confused a lot of melee players during the first few months.

I've looked at a few videos that showcase Viera, Lalafell, Roegadyn, Hrothgar Reapers and the Phantom seems to have the same size. So I'm assuming it doesn't scale and is preset. Would be interesting if it did.

For anyone looking for something fun to do in preparation for playing reaper, I've started collecting maiming gear from the dungeons between 70-80. Not only will this ensure I have the best gear for every level up to 80, but it will also ensure that the only possible drop for those dungeons where a drop is guaranteed will be a scythe!

Reaper kit looks amaizing, fast and relatively complex wich i love it but Soulsow and with it Harvest moon feel underwelming, you are going to use it 1 time per encounter, 2 if the encounter have a non-stun based transition wich those are extremly rare, remember me to much to Shoha at the begining of the expansion, it would be nice if we can get Soulsow procs to make it instant somewhere like every time you use Harpe and after use a proc Soulsow gets a recast of 10s to avoid spam abuse or maybe granted by Communio to have it more often, idk Harvest moon looks so nice for being such situational skill.

Reaper looks so flashy I am honestly a bit worried it'll just overtake and be '' too cool '' in comparison to the rest lol.
It looks a lot more modern imo than the rest.
