Yesterday, I ran the leveling roulette with my wife and had the most enjoyable Hatali run I've ever had. We met two wonderful players with senses of humor and both passionate about FFXIV.

I have my Lala joining a random PF for Nier Tower raid many months ago. Didn't expect it is a full Lalafell run.

I had a sprout learn about return in a Manor leveling roulette party today. That was wholesome.

We single pulled, took our time and RP walked the entire run. There was lots of ooc chatting and RP as well. Made some friends.

I joined a run months ago where no one greeted each other, spoke to each other, or emoted at each other. We cleared the dungeon quickly, and without issue. I still think of that run fondly when I'm stuck with a buncha wierdos who won't shutup and keep dieing :/

100% of my groups since I started this game in July. In the last ~100 days all of my random groups have been either positive, or neutral, and I have completed 184 dungeons, raids and trials during that time period. I've had more groups for random questing or 'kill the big bad' too but those are almost always silent, therefore I class them as neutral. TBH those large, roving groups that do FATEs are rumored to be pretty fun, social, and chatty, but I have never been in one.

Wait... I seem to remember one person in a raid saying something sarcastic like "nice of you to wait for the people watching cutscenes," when someone pulled early. To which there was no response, no further issues in the group, and the same 'GG' and 'Thanks!' at the end.

Anyway, , there's been regular chat (especially in roulettes, MSQ particularly, where many folks have seen the "movie" before), jokes, talk of glamours, RP stuff, people discussing mechanics, "the weather," and just general chit-chat.

In those 184 groups, I've died dozens of times, caused wipes, and did stupid things as any sprout would. All I ever got was a rez and a "avoid the blue X (or whatever) next time and you'll live!" And I say 'thanks,' and we go on.

So here's my +1 to the positive group thread. Big ups to all the folks that generate positivity out there in Eorzea. It really does come back to us.

Right on, glad you had a good time. Whatever an individual's version of a 'good time' is, I hope they have it, be that a silent run, or an RP-fest.
