Are some jobs 'too feminine' in aesthetics?

I had a conversation with a friend earlier who was complaining about White Mage in Endwalker because they believe the AF is too 'dress-like' again, and that many of the animations are 'too feminine' for him - such as the huge lily for Holy 3 and the (in my opinion very cute) heart-shaped lilybell for the Lilybell level 90 skill.

This got me thinking, do people think some jobs (perhaps WHM and DNC) lean more towards certain genders as far as animations/AF gear/etc.? Not wanting to start any arguments about genders or who can wear what, etc. This is merely wondering out of curiosity from a game aesthetics standpoint ^^ I would actually tend to agree with my friend, in that I find WHM to be slightly leaning towards a traditionally feminine aesthetic.

    Unfortunately so

Casters and Healers have far too many frilly dresses, robes, coats etc. Where's the damn armour aesthetics SE? You couldn't even leave judge drace's armour in the law's orders set alone, no you just had to make the cape into another fucking skirt.

As for animations, most of the jobs are either overly masculine or feminine, or they are lifted straight from older ff games.

some jobs do nail it however like dragoon.

Af gear? Yep, definitely. Whm, ast, blm(except sb) were clearly designed for females with a male protag as an afterthought.
Quite frankly, most of the healers attire look whack on males too.

Well, I haven't seen the male version of the EW WHM set and google isn't bringing anything up.

They have taken some liberties with differences in male and female versions of outfits in the past... Dragoon as a prime example... So it might be a more conventional robe for the guys.

Thanks for input so far ^^ As to Rhaya's comment, I believe the female WHM AF has the shoulders showing, while the male AF covers up the shoulders. Not sure about whether the pants are a skirt for female and pants for males, though.

I don't see the point in gendering things like class animations, graphics, or outfits. Robes have been a gender neutral thing for a large part of human history. Most things that people would call a dress are just robes. Also who cares? this seems silly

The lack of masculine options for casters (outside of class-generic modern-looking pieces) keeps me from playing any of those classes. If I could play a Dark Schneider style BLM I would, but the dresses and robes don't do it for me. Don't much care for the dandy look and animations of the RDM either. Give me armor, give me spikes, give me belts and capes and metal.

Magic doesn't have to be effeminate, but for some reason that's the stereotype they stick to. The idea that every class has to look distinct is thrown out the window with the glam system and at this point is just limiting for no reason.
