    Raid Simulator

Recently I found out about a browser based raid simulator used to practice fights outside of FF14. What a awsome concept! Ive been teaching raid fights to people for years in this wonderful adventure and I gotta say this could be a powerful tool if FF14 developed it themselves in a more official capacity.
For years now if my team hit a hard part of a fight I would take us somewhere, lay down raid markers and do dry runs of the particuliar mechanic using me calling out fight mechanics and our imaginations?! This helps a ton and saves alot of time if you have a couple people in your group who cant mentally visualize clearing a mechanic. Often times a hard mechanic is put several minutes into a fight and getting there can be hard enough let alone execute the new mechanic with percision.
FF14 should really look into this as a danger room style option where we can help teach people to overcome hard mechanics in raid at a more classroom pace. Ive been teaching people like this for years just without the fancy tools to act as better visual aids. This could really open the door to new players to gain the confidence and skills needed to do more complicated raids.

Seriously i don´t see any need of this since:

    a) Such tools already exist.
    b) You´ve dummies to check the needed DPS for any new savage raids.
    c) If people actually need a teacher to move from A to B or to avoid some ground aoe´s, then i don´t know... that´s what raids have become so...
    d) Just play the game and get better? Isn´t the real fight the best practice?
    e) I personally don´t want to see such tools which let us pick a mechanic out of the fight in the game. The content would "die" pretty fast without wipe and repeat to get better.
    f) Wasted time and efford. We need content, better gameplay and UNIQUE classes in the first case.

Not everyone clears raids week one and they need guides and encouragement to push through raid content. Why would something that educates other people people be a negative to anyone? Would it give access to more people clearing raids? Would it take away from anyones personal accomplishments? The top raiders use ACT to do call outs have Catpot and write the script for it to trigger why because its human nature to make difficult things easier. Anyone that wouldnt want this kind of thing wants to gate keep raids so they can feel good about themselves.

I've been hoping the devs would update the Hall of Novice, into the Hall of EX/Savage, or Guildhest with a mix of specific mechanics from high-end instances to practice, mixed in with a by the books use of Trust AI NPCs. Seeing this would probably be a programing nightmare for them, when already busy and behind, there being an outside tool is the next best thing.

We all process and learn in a manner different from the next person. I tend to need to experience something first hand, before a video guide has the context needed to make it all click. Other times I'm 98% confident on the fight but there's that one specific mechanic I wanna keep hammering away at to erase my doubt. The thing is it's either in the beginning, middle, or end of the fight for that one time you're in there. The option for such would be immensely appreciated and welcomed by me.

This game is already way too easy. And calling someone a top raider, someone who´s abusing cactbot or similar stuff, is definately wrong. They´re nothing but cheaters and it´s against the rules. That SE close their eyes in this direction just shows one thing. They´re greedy and would lose too much money if they would start to ban ppl with such tools as much as they would lose a bunch of streamers.

You´ve said already what´s going wrong with the players and why they want things easier and easier. "Guides, Encouragement, stuff to make difficult things easier..."

Have you ever thought about the aspect, that ppl learn the most if they do something blind? Copy & paste stuff from guides, getting carried by others or abusing scripts doesn´t help to understand certain mechanics, your own class or stuff you´ve to care about. Even if you clear a raid, you´ll hit the wall at the next one waiting for guides, scripts or ppl who´ll carry you.
The most ppl here are just lazy and rely on the work of better players instead of becoming a better player by themselves. All you need is to read and to activate your brain. Think about the given infos. Castbars, buffs, debuffs, animations, spawning adds, even the lines on the platforms. The game itself throws a bunch of informations on the players, just use them.

And no, not everyone is a selfish bastard who just wants to "feel good". But i see a bunch of them in Limsa with an ultimate weapon they´ve paid for. I do even know ppl who paid for it and they´re not really good gamers, but feel good about it and are like "Oh look, i cleared ultimate!".
Games have become a mess over the years with the addition of own scripts, tools and a bunch of unneccesary dumbdows / QoL implementations. Of course ppl stuck in the stone-age because they heavily rely on them now.
I personally couldn´t even care less about "feeling good", "being something better" in this game because i cleared some savages. If anything, i´m bored of its easyness and everything which makes the stuff even easier is a clear no - go. It´s called savage for a reason.

This could lead to legal issues if some other MMO company copies the mechanic.

SE could sue the simulator authors instead of the game company who copied the mechanic. At least the simulator must have been implemented the original game mechanic diligently...

Rather, allowing addons like BigWigs/DBM would be much better idea.

Pretty much all of these arguments could be used against crafting simulators being included in game - but SE did it anyway, because it's helpful to people.

I admire the people that put all the time and work into creating a raid simulator, but it'd be helpful to have in game. If it wasn't, no one would've made it.
