MNK w/PS5 Controller

Hi,

My hands are small, and I initially liked the new controller once I got used to it. I have, however, started to prog E9S with a new prog static, and.. Between the different buttons and the bulkiness of the controller, I can't help but think that I had an easier time with the smaller PS4 controller.

Do we know how long the PS5 will have access to the PS4 version of FFXIV? I want to know that I can use the PS4 controller without worrying about compatibility being dropped in say 6.4.

Has anyone else had similar problems with the PS5 controller?

Since the PS5 is designed to run PS4 games, as long as the PS4 version is updated, it will still run on the PS5 until PS4 support is dropped, which is never in the middle of an expansion and I don't see it being dropped any time soon.

I love the PS5 controller but yeah, it will be many years before PS4 support is dropped. Just look at how long it took the PS3 version to be dropped.

If you migrated to PS5, they informed us this is a one-way transfer, and you can't go back, as I understood it, to your PS4 copy of the game. This was similar to the upgrade to PS4 from PS3 where players lost access on the old console after migrating.

If you haven't migrated, then we know at this point that PS4 support is currently not being dropped, nor would I suspect it will be while the shortage on hardware is ongoing. I would, however, expect that this will be addressed and support will be dropped with a 7.0 expansion.

PS4 and PS5 versions are considered the same and so you can swap back and forth at will. This is evidenced by the fact the PS5 and PS4 licences on the mogstation share the same licence column.

There really aren't many (I couldn't find any at all, but not discounting that they exist) options to use a different controller.

That's not really an option if you're playing on a PS5. I looked and I can't find anything about being able to sync up Nintendo controllers to the Sony product.

It definitely seems like an odd thing in general that you can't buy different sizes of controller. At least a large and small model, or modular handles or something.

I haven't got a PS5 yet but I remember the PS4 controller seeming uncomfortably big compared to the PS3. I've gotten used to it but I'm not sure I want a bigger one again.
