Hecking the bed is the only actual 'FFXIV Meme'.
The whole idea behind a meme is that it is an inside joke. Ripping images from the game and embosses text over them isn't funny. Taking a humorous aspect from the game which is shared by those who follow it can be. I know it seems silly that this bugs me so much but you are somehow doing it wrong. Don't ask me how but you are actually using the internet wrong.
Image macros without context to the original idea (FFXIV) is like taking the punch line from a joke. Removing the exposition, set up, and pacing. Then shouting "AND THEN HE GAVE THE WHORE 2 NICKELS INSTEAD! XD"

Because it's like being bothered by that one friend that laughs at something you find really stupid. At first you don't want to hurt his feelings, but eventually you get so annoyed by that old joke that you tell him so.
But no. He doesn't stop. He just keep saying it again and again. Soon some other people start spreading the joke and laughing as if they've heard it for the first time EVERY time. So you press harder and harder till you're so filled with anger and frustration, you lock yourself into a state of cynicism. And then you're with other cynics. Commenting on how the latest instillation of your once favorite franchise will totally suck. And any time someone comes in with one of those old dumb jokes, you yell at them to get back too where they came from. Then you start making comics in MS paint for your fellow cynics about the state of things, but then the old cancer finds them, cuts the "funniest" pictures from them and starts using them for more week jokes. And at this point I'm to bitter to even laugh at something so dumb when it uses pieces of genuinely funny works. Like the lazy mans comic. And they're all laughing their worthless faces at the SO FUNNY LEL XD 'comics' made from shards of YOUR work. So you break. You just give up and you leave it all.
That's when you realize that it's not worth the drama. That people will like stupid shit and there's nothing you can do about it. You think, there's a reason why people act the way they do. And as much as it bugs me, on a cosmic scale no one is more in the right than another. So you step back and think. Why give up on XIV? Why follow the bitter backlash like before? You enjoyed it enough and you're interested to see where it goes, so why not get back on there and see if it can actually become something good and original?
...I'm sorry, what where we talking about?

It's all good. People are having fun. Who cares wtf someone laughs at (as long as it isn't insanely out there)
people like to have fun and make people laugh. So like a comment or just stop. Your discouraging people

I am just awful about this and apologise to everyone involved.
You know me. Biggest snob and jerk all the forums.
As long as ya'll keep these image marcos in the thread ond don't go overboard with outdated meme refrences in the actual game. (I swear to God, if I see someone say "how I mine for fish" in an MMO one more time, I'm gonna crack). It's lazy humor most of the time and a reflection of the level of maturity of the overall comunity. Just...try to be aware not everyone finds those old gags funny, and get annoyed when people act like they're better than sliced bread.
The funniest thing about this is the fact there where some people who did not realize this was satire.Because it's like being bothered by that one friend that laughs at something you find really stupid.
