No, just ignore everything other than the 70 quest. It goes from a series of mediocre memes to grand memelord status in a single quest.
I see we are starting to pick at the bottom of the barrel here. XIV really is great when this is what there is to complain about.

30-50 MNK quests say hello. The 1-30 questline is pretty great with actual characters and a plot. Then it turned into, "Take this thing. Place it here. Fight some mobs and return. Oh you randomly learned a skill good job. Also your Monk archetype is an idiot." With a very light sprinkling of Ala Mhigo stuff. 50-60 wasn't too much better. Best summed up as, "Miqo'te are silly and yeah said archetype is a useless idiot."
Haven't done the whole thing yet but I share your pain, Paladins.

Ala Mhigo... Yet the Monk master didn't appear in Stormblood and Ala Mhigo's liberation?30-50 MNK quests say hello. The 1-30 questline is pretty great with actual characters and a plot. I enjoyed the Conjuror and White Mage story. It's nice to have a serious story every so often and I enjoyed purifying things. Was nice working with Raya and getting her brother a girlfriend/bodyguard.

That's part of the ShB MNK questline, which is a huge step up because there's actual character development. Also the Pugilist Guild group returns and it's revealed Pugs can do things MNKs can't which I thought was a great touch. It's a huge step up compared to the other job quest lines.

thats a part i liked in the quest line, cause it shows theres different martial arts etc with varying effectiveness, while a lot of games would consider the Pugs an inferior job to MNKs in similar quest lines. That's part of the ShB MNK questline, which is a huge step up because there's actual character development. While here both learn from each other.
As much as I enjoyed some of the job quests, there's just too many jobs at this point to have each be given a compelling experience without it being a major resource drain. Let's look at the DRK quests which are generally widely celebrated. How much effort went into the story, cutscene animations, NPC design and localisation? The latter, let's not forget, needs to account for multiple different languages. Now multiply that by the amount of jobs that now exist and...it's probably more efficient for the development team to lean on the role quest model.
Furthermore, we already arguably had closure for the existing job storylines with the way in which the level 80 job quests played out in ShB.
I really do like the Pug cast a lot. It was nice to have a job story where there's no rivalry/in-fighting. Just wholesome group trying to better each other and function like a family.

The Paladin questline is truly something. It deserves an award-it takes the cake for being probably the most boring job questline in the game.
It's a product of unfortunate circumstances. With 1.0 lacking any distinct "kingdoms" and other core fantasy elements, there was no real place to put in a Paladin type class except...Ul'dah. For some reason. Since Ishgard was inaccessible and all. When I decided I wanted to try the class, I didn't think twice about boosting it since I knew I wouldn't be missing much in terms of story and I could learn its rotation on a training dummy.
