Black screen when quitting the game

Hi,
I have recently installed Logitech GHUB to manage my mouse & keyboard. I was using Logitech Gaming Software but this software is no more maintained.

But since I have updated to GHUB, i have regularly a black screen when quitting the game (Game not responding). I need to close it using the task manager.
I have read the Logitech Integration may cause the issue, but even I desactivated them, the issue remains.
It is not systematic, but quite often.
When I used the old LGS, i had no issue at all... And it is the only software change I did recently.

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

I apologize for the delay in response to this issue. We suggest to perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the 'Start up' Tab. Then, Disable everything. Additionally, have you attempted to disable this program while running Final Fantasy XIV to see if that helps with the issue? Lastly, please be sure to have the graphics drivers and sound drivers fully updated.

Regarding the test with the "Start up" tab, i have disable them but no changes at all.

If I quit GHUB, I have no more issue at all. I have uninstall it and come back to old Logitech Gaming Software, and no more issue at all. If I uninstall it and come back to GHUB, black screen come backs when closing the game (not all the times bue quite frequently during long time play session). I found on reddit that I am not the only one to have this issue as well, and all point GHUB as root cause.

I can confirm, this is an issue with GHUB, at least on my machine, and apparently on yours.

With GHUB disabled or not installed, I get no black screen on exit. With it installed and active, I get a black screen perhaps one out of every three times I exit.

I'm afraid it's not a problem with FFXIV... or at least I seriously doubt that SE is going to put any time or effort into fixing a compatibility problem with 3rd party mouse software that is technically unnecessary for mouse operation, not required to play, and only results in a short delay on exit requiring two extra clicks.

All of us (you, the Redditors, and myself) should go over to the Logitech forums and bug their support people about it. If everyone is pointing at GHUB, then ... Logitech should be asked for support. SE cannot design their game around every existing piece of 3rd party software. If FFXIV works properly with a mouse connected to Windows with basic drivers, that's where their responsibility ends.

Personally, I have no desire to keep GHUB disabled or to uninstall it because I play a few different games, so having different "templates" automatically selected by the GHUB software is nice. So, I do the workaround: wait four seconds after the black screen appears, click anywhere on the screen, and cancel the "error report to Microsoft". It's an extra six seconds, and that doesn't personally bother me all that much. I spend more time rinsing out my mouth an extra time when I brush my teeth.

I have already post a topic on the community board of Logitech and send a report regarding this issue. We will see if future updates of GHUB will be better ^^'

I am not sure that SE will do something, but it can be helpuful to be aware of it.
