Music Character Association

So, while FFXIV has many great musical tracks, and it's somewhat hard to divorce the game from them (I listen to many of the tracks on repeat), I've always found the characters cropping up in my head in relation to songs completely unrelated to the game.

The idea of the thread is to share any song that makes you think of characters. Feel free to just name them and their songwriter/singer(s) alongside the XIV character. Linking them is also welcome!

It's obviously not anything serious. It's just a lighthearted thread for entertainment. I'll start! Oh, and uhh, feel free to list more than one song per character/more than one character per song! If you can't/don't relate outside music to in game characters, feel free to share your favorite XIV track or just any favorite music!

*Rubs hands together* Two songs into someone else's music, and already got new music to enjoy out of this thread. And man, that second Beast in Black one was very on the nose(made me chuckle but also is that band Berserk fans?)!

Yeah, a lot of their songs are inspired by Berserk. The band's name is a reference to Guts' black armor. They also name drop the Band of the Hawk in "This is War", and "Zodd the Immortal" is pretty obvious, among others.

And if that's not enough, they also have "Cry Out For a Hero" about Fist of the North Star.

I'll admit that Zenos was the first thing I thought of when I first heard this song. lol I love Beast In Black more than words can properly express. At this point I don't think they could make a bad album or song even if they tried.

A classic! It's actually made by a guy named Boots Randolph, though most people know it from Benny Hill

For Hildibrand I would submit Weird Al Yankovic's Dare To Be Stupid You better squeeze all the Charmin you can, when Mr. Whiffle's not around! Use your microwave and give yourself a tan!

Without being overly specific, I find I can squidge each and every Muse song to fit in somewhere, to the point they provide my unofficial soundtrack to the game.

That said, Electric Six's High Voltage is what I like for Lahabread and Gaius in their Prae cutscene.
