    Mansions need to be relocated

Mansions are expensive. In real life the most expensive house is the one that has the best location and view, but this is not the case in the game.

In Lavender Beds out of the 3 Mansions only 1 has a good location and view (the one at the topmost), 1 that has a good location in a separate island hill crossing a bridge but not only is it looking AWAY from the nearby waterfall but also is surrounded with tree bark walls that obstruct the view, and 1 that is awkwardly in the middle looking towards nowhere in particular.

In Kugane you have 1 Mansion with a good location and view (the topmost) and then 2 Mansions with good location that are aimed at the wrong direction (the one by the beach is looking AWAY from the beach, and the one on the hill is looking AWAY from the sea)

Mist has 1 Mansion with a good location and view (topmost) and an interesting idea of having 2 Mansions almost side by side in their own personal exclusive area by the pier with no other house nearby...that is completely ruined by having the appartment building for commoners right inbetween of them

And then you have the Goblet, which is already an unfortunate area made worse by 2 of the Mansions seemingly being placed at random amongst the small and medium houses and looking away from the central pool or towards a wall, and 1 Mansion that had a cool idea by being in a separate hill and having a Small house right next to it for "the servants and housekeepers", but it's ruined by the Goblet being surrounded by nothing but an endless abyss.

    Changes that should be made:

Kugane is easiest to fix, just rotate the Mansions so they are looking at the right direction

Lavender Beds the Mansion across the bridge needs to be looking towards the waterfall and remove the tree bark walls, and the Mansion in the middle needs to be swapped with the Medium house by the lake.

Mist relocate the appartment building, or switch both Mansions with the 3 small houses by the beach.

Goblet would be the hardest since the entire area needs a visual update to look more like the concept art but alternatively move the 2 randomly placed Mansions closer to the central pool.

As somsone who has owned larges in all zones, I think Mist is the best one with currently layout. Some of them are really disappointing (looking at you LB).
I loved LB with the forest feeling and rain but the layout is what I hate about that area.

I don't like your suggestion that other houses should be moved to accommodate the mansions getting moved. It really wouldn't be fair to ruin the plots of multiple houses just to make a smaller number be better. A lot of people worked hard for a long time to get specific plots and if their location gets changed without them being able to do anything about it there would be many unhappy players. Certainly my fc would be very angry if our medium plot beside the pool in the Goblet got moved because we specifically aimed to be in that location. We didn't want just any medium plot. We wanted -that- plot. We love it so much we chose that over the more popular locations like Mist and Shirogane. We're not even entertaining the idea of moving to Ishgard.

I suspect that mansions are located where they are so they won't be too obstructive to other plots. They're very tall and wide so they can easily block views and sunlight, especially with some housing skins. Mediums to a lesser degree also appear to be located so that they don't block too much for other plots around them. Moving mansions around the wards in some cases would require a lot of redesign so that other plots around the mansions wouldn't end up entirely losing the view they had. That would be a lot of work for a feature that wouldn't benefit many players, and potentially make a far larger amount be upset.

I think a good solution would be to permit anyone to rotate their house. It would give every home owner even more options as to how their plots look, it would fix some of the unwanted design decisions by SE, and it wouldn't force relocation on anyone's plot.

Alternatively, have new wards have the new design, with a 24hr priority for current Mansion holders to relocate there before they go into lottery/first come first serve mode.

Unfortunate, but that's how it is in real life. If you are going to have to pay almost 20 times as much as a small house it must be worth it.

i like my beach front in mist on Siren... sorry not taking my spot. Also not giving up my poolside in Brimming Heart either on Balmung or my waterfronts in Shirogane on Gilga or Spriggan. Nice to dream but it's not happening.

But... what makes a good location is subjective.
People on the forums have (unknowingly) ragged on the same small plot in The Mist that I have saying it's not very good, but for me it's perfect and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Would mansion owners be able to at least opt out of this?
What about the people who intentionally bought mansion in a secluded spot over one with a view?

Would anything be given to the owners of the plots the mansions move to? Do they even get a say? Or are they just screwed?

How would this even work geographically?
Large plots are literally physucally larger.
You can just substitute a mansion onto a small plot and have things work out. You'd at least need to edit the map around these areas and a Large moving to where a Small plot is would push away / around all the other nearby houses, leading to even more people being upset. Not a good idea for a housing system based on the idea of fostering neighborhoods.

But... is this even a problem?
Are there long, dissatisfied, and documented discussions of mansion owners complaining that their locations aren't prime enough for their mansions?

Then don't buy them if you're only buying them to get the view. Buy the cheaper houses with the view you want.

Most players are interested in the mansions for the size, not the view, and clearly feel the price is worth it or they wouldn't be pay it.

In my opinion the best Large plot is Shirogane plot 16/46. Everyone love large Mist near cliff but it only gives me anxiety that it might collapse anytime...

But again I'm bored with Mist beachfront because I've been owning it since 2.3, and decided to move into Medium Goblet near Brimming Heart. Best decision ever... Near pool with the view of Roegadyn flexing? :chefkiss:

It's not enough to have the biggest, most grand house in the game, but now you want to take the view that some of the smalls are afforded too? Pfft.

This isn't real life. It's a game that we all pay the same (minus extra retainers fee if we so choose) sub fee for. If we're going for "real life"- then these houses should just be moved into their own subdivisions.

Leave us peons what niceties we've got.
