Why would you delay three events when you can just delay one? And of the three, all saints' wake is the least time sensitive, with Heavensturn being the most time sensitive.

Because even if it's not based on Halloween, it's a festival themed around the harvest and Eorzea has shown to roughly follow the same seasons as Earth. So their harvest would be before their snowfall. It doesn't really make sense for them to have their harvest festival in the middle of winter.

Eorzea also has a very flexible notion of the passage of time. It's still only five years or so after the Calamity, after all.

I don't know about that. The name of the event itself does not relate to harvest at all, though I suppose the pumpkin would be the part of the harvest theme. Then again, a "wake" is fine for a winter theme, which is the dead season, including dead pumpkins.

Honestly, while I know the social reasons for it, this is why I'd rather in-game seasonal events have less to do with real life events.

I'd be fine with this if a delay is needed for Starlight. It's just that, once again, if they don't need to delay it, then there's no need to.

Adding to this, even if taken at face value. That same argument could be applied to Starlight and Heavensturm, especially the latter which centers around the zodiac animals. So we're right back to where we started, delaying three seasonal events instead of one that has already missed it's date.

It's being delayed because the files and data for the event won't be uploaded to the game servers until early access launches. There's no maintenance planned until then, and they'd have to take the game down to force a version update. Thematically it's already too late at that point to run ASW and they'll want everyone to play the new MSQ anyways, so the most acceptable solution to the devs was to place it after Heavensturn and before Valentione's.

There's also the fact we usually get some expansions NPCs as "skins" in ASW, and there're a chance that they already included 6.0 ones to the list.

And since Heavensturn and Starlight don't cross with release dates, there's simply no need to push them later.

Starlight is specifically a winter festival, and Heavensturn isn't just about "the zodiac" but an animal being chosen to rule the zodiac for the new year. So both are tied to their times of year and it's better to keep them in place.

That said, I looked up the very first Saints' Wake event script and it does talk about being a harvest festival originally. Still, once it's been moved away from autumn it's no stranger whether it ends up in early winter or late winter or spring.
