Maybe they can add condos, duplexes, and fourplexes for housing.

I have wondered with cross data centre travel coming. Why can't they create housing data centres. They would have to remove the ability to get mail, access retainers, and market boards. The house could have its own storage. It would be annoying to forget to bring something with you and have to go back. But adding a retainer bell close to the travel point would help. Is it a good solution. No a good solution would be creating a quality instance system. Would people be willing to compromise for some weird work around so that everyone could get a house, probably.
They always mention server costs pay up and get more servers until you reach a decent equilibrium. At this point I am surprised they haven't found a way to monetize a bad system and have it as an extra charge like retainers. Those who pay an extra X amount per month can get a large house.
I wouldn't be surprised if the housing actually was its own server within each data center that is then divided among the worlds on that datacenter. If they did the thing you mentioned about a housing data center it would probably be based in Japan and have a large number of people outside that region complaining about lag or connectivity when trying to purchase or access a home.I have wondered with cross data centre travel coming. I still feel that work outside of the housing system needs to be done as well in order to help resolve the demand vs supply issue with housing. At least it looks like they've finally taken some notice of the economy inflation given the recent additions of "luxury" mounts purchasable from NPCs with gil pricetags higher than any other vendor item we have seen in game before. A better way of combating the inflation however would be to add various NPC exclusive comsumables, buffs, or services that players will want and happily pay for on a regular basis to keep active. You'll remove far more gil from circulation by getting a majority of the playerbase consistently disposing of a small amount per player on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as opposed to having the wealthier players making a 1 time purchase here or there for 25-50mil or so. Granted my solution is also a lot more work to implement as they'd need to offer something attractive enough for ppl to want it or feel that they need it while at the same time not making it overpowered or game breaking so people not using it aren't viewed as a hinderance, weakling, or leech. They'd also need to figure out an appropriate pricing for it so it can do it's job without bleeding new players or ones that just don't have an over abundance of gil dry.
I tried instanced housing in other game (Genshin) and it's crap despite it has robust amount of furniture/customization.
- Unmotivated to furnish it unless you want to flex it on social media.
- No one visiting/dead zone.
- Feel too lazy to explore others houses if 90% of those instances are empty.
Apartment/FC room is your instanced housing, they can expand on that instead of replacing current wards.
Unpopular opinion, but I’d say roll back the housing to be as originally intended- no private plots at all. Outrageous prices and all.
If individuals need housing, island sanctuary should handle that, or FC private rooms or apartments.
And I’m saying this as an owner of 4 houses on Tonberry, 3 of which are indeed private. I’d be happy to let them go if such a system actually happens…
Because if everyone had a house then nobody would care about them. They would just be empty ramshackled hububs where everyone is sitting alone in their bar/club/bathhouse/whatever everyone always makes. Wishing everyone else would hang out in theirs but refusing to hang out at anyone elses. Having housing be such an obnoxious and terrible system gives a small percentage feelgoods which make them much more willing to drop money in the cash shop to glam out their house. Otherwise nobody would care and thus almost nobody would buy cash shop housing items.LOTRO, New World are just a few mmos to name that have unlimited housing. Why does this game punish 99% of players with no housing spaces and further punish you if you get a house if you don't sub or a month by losing it...
It's 2021, the game is doing very well and I'm sure with their cash shop which was originally made to apparently add more housing areas money is not an issue... So why do they disrespect their players soo much? I've played since 1.0 and only every once been able to find and buy a house and then I couldn't sub for a few months and lost it.
Lotro just adds new housing districts when one is full, ffxiv is using the exact same housing system as lotro, so why can it not expand?
Becouse to much people are willing to defend any thing yoshi will do.if tomorrow he say they deleting all characters and ask you to start over they will say it's good and they understand. After all yoshi looked sad when he say it. Good thing is ff14 is not a modern game , gacha.LOTRO, New World are just a few mmos to name that have unlimited housing. We need one badly. Graphics need an up date but most of the problems are just the devs take a short cut. They can easy add more as they will add some more in 6.1 if I am not wrong.
If they want the game to carry on into the next decade and beyond they need to overhaul the engine, so that among other things we can all have ONE house each.
Ok I am sorry but no one visiting you in a SOLO game? My god you on a new lvl of fan boy.but please show me your ff14 not empty place. May be just the server I am on.I tried instanced housing in other game (Genshin) and it's crap despite it has robust amount of furniture/customization.
